Bill Belichick thinks Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback he's ever coached against.

"I mean, he's great, he's obviously a great quarterback," Belichick told reporters Wednesday. "The best quarterback I've coached against."

While the gravity of that statement may be lost in another mundane mid-week press conference, it's worth noting that Belichick has coached against Dan Marino and Joe Montana. He's faced all of the modern-era QB`s, including Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.

"Not to take anything away from the Montanas, Marinos and Elways or whoever is up there with those guys, but he is tough," Belichick said.

That settles it. The greatest HC ever confirms it!

Depends on what QB you have been watching for 5 years. If his name than yes his greatness exceeds even that of superbowls. Even Montana`s.

I agree danight, Manning is the best QB to ever play. Hands down.

I think the Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning arguments are pointless. Football is the ultimate team sport and superbowls are a measure of team greatness and failure. Case and point, look at Ryan/Brees without a line and Rivers/Brady without weapons, they become a shell of their potential. But they played at an elite or borderline elite level when their TEAM had average/above average OL and weapons.

No QB is going to be as cerebral as Manning, that may be his only downfall, is that he's too **** smart even for himself.

You're right he is up there, but I can't give him best of all time though. Best regular season QB of all time? Yes, but some of his play in the postseason leaves a lot to be desired.
