Sheldon Cooper
As you can see Tom got very few of the selections correct. The right answers were selected by other teams soon after. He could have built a pro bowl roster simply through the draft if he had only drafted better and stayed put.

Herr Doktor
Where TD failed was his unwavering commitment to his vision. When it was failing, he arrogantly pressed forward with it. He's not dumb and knows football players. He suffers from an amazingly high sense of self importance and border line megalomaniacal arrogance. He suffers from an amazingly high sense of self importance and border line megalomaniacal arrogance.Comments like this get my goat.Maybe you'd like to explain to us what "his vision" was, and how you know that it was TD and he alone who set that agenda, and when he arrogantly pressed on with it. If anything, this year's off-season showed a willingness and ability to change and do things differently.Plus, what first hand experience have you had of TD, to be able to comment on his sense of self importance, or to say he is megalomaniac and arrogant? I've been fortunate enough to speak to TD more than once, and when I have spoken to him he has always struck me as really nice down to earth guy. If anything, from my experience he 's more approachable than Smith.

TD has shown he can adjust and make corrections to his approach. Look at this past offseason for example. Smitty doesn't even think he's on the hotseat and is going to keep doing things the same way he has been.

isproab
Wow. TD ought to quit ignoring that crystal ball. You know, I have not sat down and done a "re-draft" but what the OP is talking about isn't really far fetched. I was personally yelling for Carlos Dunlap, Jimmy Graham, Greg Hardy, Antonio Brown, Muhammed Wilkerson, Julius Thomas, Lavonte David and Marvin Jones on draft day. And you know what it cost me to gather my info? Couple of hours on the internet and my eyes on the TV when those guys were playing. I hear people in the southeast complain about not caring about Pac 12 football. I watch all football with the idea in mind that I want to know who the real players are for the next NFL draft.Right now, i'm looking at the Louisville game on Thursday to see Lorenzo Mauldin. I tuned into USC and Utah to see what Nate Orchard was about. Kentucky has Za'Darius Smith and Alvin Dupree, they have fallen off some this year, but they would be good pass rushers to bring in with lower round picks if they are not rated highly due to lack of production as seniors. 3 years says Vic Beasley is the real deal. Hau'oli Kikaha of Washington has put up monster numbers in back to back year. If in tune fans can do it, a GM with scouts and a staff can do it unless he doesn't know what he is doing.I'm convinced that TD believes he could "recreate" the NE Patroits. He want to go top heavy at key offensive positions, and just wanted scraps on D thinking we would be fine. Sorry, not ever coach is Bill Belichick. etherdome
Tommy has always said that he drafts for need and fit. Only, when he says it, he usually uses a lot of hyphens. The trouble with Tommy's philosophy is that neither he nor Smitty know exactly what the team needs, nor who is the best fit. If Tommy would have drafted the BPA (according to just about any internet draft site), he might have done better. The fact that I can even think that is a sign of how pathetic things have gotten. Sorry, not ever coach is Bill Belichick. It's not that the picks are far fetched but 1)nobody is perfect in the draft 2) one draft pick changed in the first round will most likely send a ripple throughout the rest of the draft causing, literally, hundreds of players to slide up and down draft boards for different teams. For example, if we pick up Clay Matthews instead of Jelly, who does the packers wind up taking and where does Jelly fall? So, theoretically, the players listed in the OP were "available" at our pick, but may not have been had our first draft pick been different.
