Desert_Falcon
Browsing round the sports news this morning I've noticed the Jets have been awful(shocker) and the axe is currently beinged sharpened for Rex. So it brings me to, IF we do happen to pull the plug on Smitty & Co this week and Rex is available. Should we, and maybe a better question could we acquire him mid season? My though process is, if we could, the growing pains of having a to learn a new system would be far shorter than starting the process next year in off season and gives us a head start. Flame suit, on.
Coach_Petrino
I don't think Rex could install his system mid-season. I'm all for snatching him up in the offseason though. I think Matt Ryan is the one piece Rex has never had and he's a very good football coach.
4LoveoftheGame
Never seen anything like that happen before. Maybe we can off the Jets and even trade of coaches.Actually I don't think I would want Rex Ryan as our HC, maybe DC.
trubirdfan4life
rex and cox could make this defense much better.....gotta retool though
I Even Bleed Red
Don't want him as a HC, he's already shown he's failed at it once. Would love him as a DC to battle his brother Rob against the Saints.
direwolf
Never thought I'd say it, but Rex Ryan would actually probably be a pretty good option. Great defensive mind and he'd have an offense pretty much already in place. The offense was superb before the line fell apart due to injuries. Think we need a right tackle and a tight end and that's about all, assuming everyone comes back to health next season.Could probably get more out of our defense while building up talent, but we'd need a good GM for that. Not sure Dimitroff is that guy anymore.

hjerry
I don't know how anyone can watch that dumb **** that he pulled yesterday, with the guy laying on the grass, and think, "Wow, I want this guy as our next HC!"DC sure, HC? Nah
GEORGIAfan
midseason? wtf are you people talking about. No way in **** we hire a coach in the midseason. I also do not see what the love for rex is all about. The dude has a worse schedule than us.

Parcells left, he refused to take the HC job with the Jets and he went to the Pats.Edit: Two coordinating jobs. Pats, then Jets.
Desert_Falcon
I'm thinking Smith and Koetter go, making Nolan interim HC for D purposes. Robiskie to OC and Rex as assistant D cord.
4LoveoftheGame
Rex is going to get a chance with M. Vick at QB...Mike Vick determines Rex Ryans futureVick is no where near the player he used to be. He is better than Geno, but every time Vick talks he seems too happy being the backup. The guy does not show that fire of wanting to play and be a starter.
birdz4i
why would you replace a coach with a winning record with a coach that does not?
WOR
Teams have traded Head Coaches for compensation before. Lets just trade our coaches for the remainder of the season and see what happens lol

Mr. Hoopah!
The Jets are 1-7. It's not all his fault, but why on earth do you guys want the guy in charge of, and ultimately responsible for the success of, a 1-7 team? Are you masochists? Is it because he makes you giggle?Dan Quinn please.

slider
Rex Ryan is 1-7 guys. He's a loud mouth that has run the Jets into the ground. Mike Smith has a better record this year than Rex Ryan. I know, just because you like him, somehow none of the Jets problems can be blamed on him while all of the Falcons problems can be blamed on Smitty! Makes plenty of sense folks! Wake up and listen to what you're calling for. A freak show! Maybe he'll bring Vick back with him and we can do all that again! COME ON. Let's get a guy that's stable in here and knows the game not some huckster. I'd take a Tony Dungy type over a Rex Ryan type any day.

FalconFanForLife
I am really, really scratching my head in bewilderment that any of you could seriously think Ryan would be a good HC. Except for great soundbites, the guy is waste as a HC. Come on now, Smith is a MUCH better HC than Rex Ryan ever was or could be in any universe of imagination. As a DC, I would like to give him a try. As a HC, I am just LMAO at the thought. slider
Two Ryans in the same division? No thanks**** I'm sure they'll call for the two Ryans on this team after Rob gets the axe in N.O.. Amazing what nonsense!
