Ice5303
Everyone... Even the guys on the Fan say... What would be the point of firing him midseason. An interim coach is not going to spark this team. I say wrong.....What about findng out if devonta can play, southward, hageman etc. why do we need to see sjax get more carries. Or bierman or osi. They are not going to be here next year but Smith will keep playing them A interim coach wouldn'tAnd about smith.... You know hes done.... He has always preached about getting points before the half ... They practice it.. They have talkd about how good they are at it...hes talked the statistics about how it helps you win..... Hes not even following his own beliefs anymore. You would think he would be coaching with some urgency. Why does he think a 2-5 team can rest on its backs. Doobs
Giving the reigns to Keith Armstrong or Mike Tice will absolutely 100 percent spark this team in some form. Will it lead to finishing the season 8-8 or better? Probably not. With that said, it will be a huge wake-up call. It'll let the entire organization know from Dimitroff to Josh Harris that there is no such thing as safety in this league. Tice and Armstrong may not resemble Joe Gibbs, but they will undoubtedly light a fire. That's their personality. A personality that Smith has sorely lacked for some time now. Yea I like this
Peyton
I just really can't see the risk in firing the guy. He's lost the team it is obvious. We can limp on to a 4-12 record with him or try something different. To let him spend one more day as coach is just mystifying to me.

With a coaching change now that MIGHT give this team a spark, it is possible for this team to have a higher ceiling than just 4 wins. The Shotfather
There is absolutely no downside in firing Mike Smith. NONE. So why not do it?What must be done eventually, should be done immediately.
ParanoidAndroid
Terry Robiskie will probably get the nod for interim.
birdz4i
he has done enough for this organization, blank will not fire him midseason. not sure why this keeps being brought up. i give it a 2% chance of happening.
bigbabygrady
realistically I don't think Blank has it in him to fire Smith mid-season, even if he thinks we wouldn't win another game this season
Peyton
I would think it would be a relief for Smith to be fired rather than go through the weekly humiliation that he is going through right now. Blank isn't doing him any favor by delaying the inevitable. It really isn't good for anybody.

There's nothing "okay" about having a lame duck HC presiding over loss after loss until the season is mercifully over. The only thing that can accomplish is completely discourage the fans and drive the players nuts. Get rid of Smith now, put Tice in charge and let's find out what the younger players can do. fansince78
I am not sure it would spark the team at all. I know it would spark the fans. Fans buy tickets and merchandise and that brings in money. I always heard Blank was a business man.

rounz
If we fire Smith this week, I'll spend 500 bucks on the official online Falcons shop. Copy this and send it to the FO.LOLYou REALLY want him gone

Feel sorry for him in some ways but we know its time for a change.
