Which Season Has Been Worse - 2013 Or 2014?

We are only 8 games into 2014 but still our 2-6 record is equivalent to our 4-12 record in 2013 on a % basis.

Last year, we were coming off a super season and began with high expectations of at least the playoffs and hopefully the Superbowl. However, injuries quickly hit us including our best receivers. Plus, we were losing every game by close scores and it seemed that a post-season fix would return us to top form.

This year, we came into the year somewhat timid but expecting improvement over last year. Some injuries hit us early but still it did not seem the end of the year. We had the big win over NO to start and then the big trashing of Tampa and our hopes were really up. Then the OL started really falling apart even more. We lost to a rookie QB in Minnesota, got beat in the 2nd half at NY, got run over by a mediocre Bears team at home, were destroyed by a good Ravens team, and now in a 5th straight loss let stupidity (time mgmt, terrible interceptions, penalties) destroy us against an even more injured Lions team.

I am really at the point that I must say that I feel worse right now about 2014 than I did at any point in 2013. I am a diehard and hopeful fan but cannot say I am proud of this team's play this year.

We had the 6th overall pick and used it on the most 'can't miss' prospect Matthews, who looks overwhelmed.

We have healthy receivers again.

We signed a pretty good RG replacement that's been good.

We blew big money on two overrated DT's.

The rookies from last year have more experience.

And we're losing games worse than we did last year. 2014 is worse.

2014. At least last year they didn't have Julio Jones for 11 games and Roddy missed extended time but this year it has been an epic failure. The whole emphasis of the off season was to get tougher and show the NFL that Falcons were going to return to their pre - 2013 form but so far they look no different than they did last year. Actually they look worse.

Depends. I truly believe we'd be winning our division easily if our O-line had stayed healthy, whereas we were ****** from the get go last year.

On the other hand this year i truly feel our coaching staff is a problem, when last year i just thought it was a talent issue.

Worse? I dunno, they're both bad. For different reasons though. We're closer to having a good team this year than last, but the uncertainty of us having a good coach next year is pretty bad.

Those two early victories over the 'aints and the 'sucs gave us fools gold. We beat a VERY BAD 'sucs team (just ask around the league) and we caught a slow starting 'aints team. The 'aints seem to be back on track (to win the Division to say sadly) based on their performance over the Packers last nite - and their conf. standing (better than ours). Yep, it was fools gold...

Have you not realized that Matthews struggles only began when Hawley went out, left guard became a turnstile, and he hurt his ankle?
