Sdogg............you Hit The Nail On The Head !

When you said Smith is a player killer.

I honestly never thought of his deficiencies.......short comings........before as a "player killer" but seeing what little they produce, especially when the heat is on, Smitty has taken a roster of some pretty skilled athletes and turned them into complete inconsistent, incompetent p.ussy's. They are afraid to become winners. It's unlike anything I have ever witnessed.

I mean it's now beyond belief.

It's laughable.

sdogg...........you nailed it.

I hope Smitty can retire to a nice house with a lake or something and never have to worry about football again. He's a great guy and hes earned it. But for gawd sakes get him (and TD) outta flowery Branch.

Ditto your comments.

I would only add...........get him "THE H.ELL" outta Flowery Branch.

I agree that MS has run his course or the process has been processed but he is far from an organization killer. This organization up until 2008 was a hot mess. And not just because of Petrino and he who must not be named.

Thanks for turning the franchise around but he has taken it as far as he can

Amen.

My image above is just for fun. I don;t for once think Smith is a player killer, organizational killer or anything else but a good, hardworking guy whose effectiveness as a head coach has run its course.

I will say one thing positive about Smith: his players are still playing every down as hard as they can play as evidenced by the two red zone and 2 point conversion stop by our defense. He's just too adverse to stepping on an opponents neck when the opportunity arises and I'm sick to my stomach with this approach.

There are a combination of things that happened to turn around this organization. The number one thing being the drafting of Matt Ryan. I believe this team has won despite Smith.

And I think this team has won mostly because of heroics of Matt Ryan.

I have never willfully blinded myself to what I believe the Falcons to have been, talent-wise, since 2008, and that is mediocre collectively. This lack of overall talent always gets exposed come playoff time, along with being out coached as well, especially in the second half of games where the good coaching minds make adjustments to a team's first half game plan. There have been countless games the Falcons have won because of Matt Ryan's heroics that led to some very nice regular season records when they were more like anywhere from a 7-9 to a 9-7 team. This is on Dimitroff and Smith.

Matt Ryan is like an average strength guy forced to carry a grand piano up 4 flights of stairs................alone.

mike smith got us this far,but he is not capable of taking us any further,he doesn't have the killer instinct. He can't take chances and absolutely forbids his players from doing the same, example, the lateral in the preseason.I should have seen it then but I bought into the hype.He told the player "to never do that again".So,if the Niners collapse,or rather Kaepernick is shown to be the Vick clone he is,and they miss the playoffs,do they can Harbaugh?or does he quit?Either way,do we want him here?

But yeah, Smith drains the energy and momentum from this team. He constantly bashes players when they celebrate a big play. He clearly ordered Ryan to basically now down, right before the half. These guys have to be frustrated with always bowing down to their opponents.

I don't see him coaching at any level, in the NFL.

I'd give Michael Turner a ton of credit for our success as well. The guy was unbelievable for several of our good years.

yes...it is time for a rest, he needs it. I know this is a very stressful job and he needs to know we thank him for the MANY great things he has done for us! SMITTY IS A CLASS GUY and please let us treat him that way so stop kicking him or anyone like him, it is a fact that the NFL jobs DO"NT last long so give him credit. Simply it's time for a change/shake up imo.
