Andre5000
On his new team next year when we lose him in Free Agency to a team that utilizes his skills and speed next year. Probably someone like Seattle or Dallas

Dharma Initiative
He will run away from this team faster than any defense. Even he's probably shocked how little he was used prior to this year.
IronBallsMcGinty
I just want to see one game with Smith getting 25 touches. I don't care if he can't pass-protect or he isn't great at running between the tackles, or any of the other excuses we keep hearing, let's just see what we have here. scarface1856
Are people for real acting like he was some known superstar this whole time? He went undrafted and spent like a month on the Lions, Vikings and Texans each. The Falcons have kept him since 2009 and he has been not much more than a special teams player, a good one at that.He has had plenty of depth ahead of him too from Turner to Rodgers to Snelling to Jackson et al.Falcons have treated him fairly and have worked him into a 4-headed rotation based on his performance. He will likely be back and at a fair price. RB's are hardly paid well anyway outside of the elite.

We have let that dude rot on our bench for 5 years because our coaching staff was too stupid to recognize that he is a tremendous athlete and it would be a good idea to give him a few touches on offense to see what he could do. The anti-competition, pay grade/experience/draft position based hierarchy this regime has created is a big reason why they are all about to lose their jobs. If Antone has always been this amazing, why is it that he didn't make it on the the other teams he was on? ANY OF THEM? If he felt he was capable of more AND believed other teams thought that too, why would he be on his THIRD CONTRACT with the team? How many other teams are committing $1.452m on a 4th string player? Lastly, are you thinking he belonged atop this depth chart anytime prior to maybe the last few weeks? If so, than perhaps it is you that is high. DaSteeleboy
I doubt he even wants to come back here next year and why should he? The decision to sit this guy on the bench is so wrong and for a talented guy like him he deserves to go somewhere where a coach will realize how good he is and they will play him for more than 10 snaps a game. If I were Antone I wouldn't want to go back to this team if that meant sitting on the bench for most of the game.

Dude has made millions from the Falcons as a ROLE PLAYER. The minute he shows promise, they start working him into the crowded backfield. They start making plays just for him and they take snaps away from the highest paid/premier back. Why would he not want to be back? Does he want 10 more carries a game and $400K more, then maybe he should try for a new deal elsewhere. They have treated him fairly for years and have kept him employed when all 32 teams passed on him and 3 teams cut him in short order. How can you possbily say that this team has treated him "fairly"? Are you kidding me? They only give him 15 snaps a game at most and once he scores or makes a big play he's gone and right back on the bench. This team gave him an oppurtunity and he has delivered. Tons of guys go undrafted and make impacts but what makes you think that for a guy like Antone would want to come back here when he would get the opportunity to play else where? Somewhere where he'll actually get 25 to 30 plays a game. The dude deserves it.
