Coach_Petrino
Here are the reasons why Antone needs to get the most snaps of all our RBs:(1) He can slow down the pass rush if we use him more on flairs and screens. This will help our stuggling O-Line, and will also potentially give more time for Ryan to find Julio and Roddy.(2) Many of his huge plays are receptions, and we need more receiving weapons out there with HD still injured. He catches the ball well and is the biggest scoring threat on the team once he catches it.(3) Guys like Toiletlo are getting way too many looks. Why are we throwing to a player like that when we could be going to Antone instead? We are 2-4, and Mike Smith even said we need to make some dramatic changes. This one could at least give the offense a shot in the arm. Antone makes huge plays, and does so reliably. You can shrug off the first few as a fluke, but at this point it is a major pattern and cannot be ignored. None of the other RBs have made even one such play all year. They've been solid but not game changing. We need max game changers out there.I also admit I was wrong in originally thinking we should keep Antone limited. I'm sorry for doubting you Antone. Dharma Initiative
I don't think starting is the answer. He's not going to be running through tackles. But we need him much more heavily on the dump offs and swing tosses
WOR
I wouldnt start him, but I'd give him the Sproles type position. Put him in the slot. Screens. Reverses. Him and Julio should be the focal points of our offense.

Coach_Petrino
Get him on the field on every passing down. Get him matched up in space with a LB. Throw him the ball. Very simple formula for success.
DonDaLuvMaker
He would not be as effective as a starter. He should get more snaps though.
Coach_Petrino
He would not be as effective as a starter. He should get more snaps though.I think we should let him prove he would not be effective. Because we have increased his workload and he has remained the most effective player on the team.No need to hand it to him a lot, but please at least throw it to him much more. ki46dinah
I don't see any of our RB's as a part of the problem personally...they are all beneficial at this point at what they do...and yes that includes Jackson. However, our OL and Toilolo are the problem...and our whole wideout corp constantly dropping passes IS a problem.Thats 2 weeks in a row with a goodly number of drops, and Toilolo's...my goodness. He made a great grab in the first quarter against the Bears where he high pointed the ball over the middle and took a shot. The fact that he dropped those two later was just soul crushing..... He made a great grab in the first quarter against the Bears where he high pointed the ball over the middle and took a shot. The fact that he dropped those two later was just soul crushing.....Those were gimme catches too...and he had a drop last week where he was running Left to Right towards the sideline, and the pass came in his direction, he was running with the direction of the pass and it still flew right threw his fingers.Catches where the pass is traveling in your same directional running path are the easiest in football by a wide margin, and he still didn't bring it in. Pathetic. He had like 95% of the offensive snaps last week, and Pascoe had like 5 snaps. And Chase Coffman is on another roster. It doesn't maker sense. GEORGIAfan
He will be 30 next year. That is the futureAnd he has been on this team riding the bench since 2009. That is crazy to me. We had this talent wasting away for so long.
Psychic Gibbon
If you haven't noticed, Smith is terrible running between the tackles so defenses will not take him seriously as that type of runner. His big plays come from getting out into space. Doing that constantly would make it easier for opposing DCs to scheme to stop it.
Lowndesfalc
At this point, I would almost like to try a little wishbone. We darn sure have the RB stable to do it. 5 plays a game maybe.
Cheyakita
Smith starting would amount to the same result as Jackson, with no blocking no one is going to bust off many big gains. Now putting Smith and Freeman in the backfield on designed screens to one while the other blocks would be nice to see every and then. Smiths biggest asset is being in open space and until we have a credible line having him start and run through the tackles would be a complete waste. ki46dinah
Antone is elite explosive, but the rest of our RB corp is not exactly performing poorly...we just haven't been consistent enough on offense to keep the O on the field and for all of the RB's to get their lovin.Part of that lies on the OL, drops, stupid stupid play calls, and on Ryan for taking so many elfin stupid deep throws on 3rd and short when are not in field goal range. jayu70
At this point in the season what would it hurt. It either works or doesn't. I would prefer to have the chance that Antone would break one for a TD as opposed to knowing SJax won't. trubirdfan4life
He would not be as effective as a starter. He should get more snaps though.indeed! The RBs are the most consistent group on the 2014 falcons....but week in and week out, we run the ball half as much as we throw the ball.....doesn't matter who is sstarting...they just need to get the ball and control the game, and not relying on the swiss cheese defense and the up and down WRs.
