A-TowN.-
Whenever I see Shaq Thompson play, I see an ideal WLB in a 4-3. I like the guy a lot, just not sure what exactly our scheme is and where he would fit. I don't see him as a pass rusher though cause he's a converted safety iirc
DawgKramer
Coaching change probably leads to scheme change. We have so little talent on defense we could in several directions. If we go back to a 4-3 look then an early mock using CBS ratings which will change dramatically could go like this:Assuming we are around pick six in each round1. Scherff-right tackle position fixed2. Dupree-pass rushing defensive end, 3.Kendrick-3 down linebacker who can cover4.Tomlinson-underrated Duke guard, left side now rebuilt
Matt4415
Not sure what you've been seeing but one player through free agency won't fix this disaster of a defense, we need at least 2 FA on the D-line

The Duke guard look like a very good sleeper. Edited October 13, 2014 by etherdome
brown bomber
Bottom line is we need immediate impact players. Up front with Hali on one side and Mass on the other. LB'ers of Spoon, Thompson, Shembo, Perryman, Worrilow, and Bartu, and Spruill.
DawgKramer
We need impact players. Agreed. Wonder if we will be hitting salary cap issues soon which will handcuff our ability to sign FAs. Plus our FA record is really bad.
brown bomber
Build thru the draft. That's why I really want to only go with a proven pass rusher in Hali. Other than he and resigning Spoon I would leave it at that. Although I'm kinda leaning a little bit towards signing Sherrod Martin and letting Lowery walk. But we need a vet pass rusher up front and play maker LBers in the draft. Outside and inside.
