atlantaprodj
... fire Dimitoff right away!Let McKay have it strictly for the interim of the season and began interviewing candidates now. If there isn't a viable replacement then let's see who's available at the end of the season. Blank isn't one to knee jerk but this is a move that sends a message that he's serious about building a better franchise. This is a move he can make! The failings of our drafts and free agency acquisitions is apparent to anyone with a minimal football IQ. Dimitroff deserves to be fired today for this lackluster pool of talent. His track record shows it. No depth, pick fails etc... Simply firing Smith, Nolan or Koetter isn't going to change the crap of talent Dimitroff gave these guys to work with.Note... I'd fire Smith too since they agreed on these roster moves together! I just don't believe he will this early. Then the new GM can begin to work on next season ASAP!If an executive is performing poorly you release him! The stockholders demand it! LongSufferingFan88
Not gonna happen unfortunately. This team is passive all the way from the bottom to the top.
Herr Doktor
The Monday after the last season bloodbath will be known as Black Monday. Heads will roll. I fully anticipate that everyone from coaching to front office is currently mentally prepping for the axe. Houses are being put up for sale and bags are being packed. Flights are being booked for Hawaii for a nice post **** canning vacation.
highlightreel08
There's no point in firing a GM midseason (actually we're not even midseason yet). He'll be fired at the end of the season as he rightfully should be. It's not like firing him is all of a sudden going to make some difference in the season. If I'm remembering correctly the last team to fire a GM in the middle of a season was the Detroit Lions that year they went 0-16. The sad truth is we're all going to have to weather this storm. Only reason an owner would fire a GM is because of something personal, not to fix the way the team plays.

atlantaprodj
My point is that they shouldn't be safe until season ends... What the **** is his job the rest of the season anyway? His job is done... his damage un-repairable!At least a new GM could come in and start to change the FO culture and begin prepping for next season!Firing a coach isn't going to improve the crappy talent!Firing the GM now sends a message that changes are indeed coming! Faithful Falcon
Not gonna happen unfortunately. This team is passive all the way from the bottom to the top.I'm not so sure about this. He didn't hire Pioli for nothing. I think that he hired him to warn Dimitroff.

Firing Smith, that would definitely shake things up, and almost certainly for the better.
