Ice5303
A perfect storm...Injuries.....spoon, Baker, etc. this year and last year have stung usBad drafts.......very low productive....Konz, Holmes, Alford...etc especially with what round they were draftedMind boggling free agency..... Targeting just Osi last year, when other, cheaper, younger DEs were out there, thus year and last, I agree with Paul S, Hester and Aso, but I almost think it's what we didn't do....no linebackers or DEs in the last 2 yearsCoaching....finally mike smith is falling on deaf earsAnd he is still making the same mistakes he was in year 1, our defense has no identity

Guest facelessman07
The fact that TD OVERESTIMATED our lines certainly didn't help

BCEagleATLFalcon
It really is mind-boggling that we were ten yards from the Superbowl in January of 2013. Hasn't even been two years.
bweb blapho
TD did not effectively replace aging players in Turner, Abraham. Gonzalez, McClure and Asante. He also did not resign Clabo and Grimes. These players highly contributed to the Falcons success in 2012. The Falcons have not had a 100 yd/g rusher since. There has not been a serious pass rusher since. Joe Hawley was finally adapting to the C position before IR, but it took him a while. Of course, no one was expected to replace Gonzales, but the Falcons could have probably done better than picking Toilolo. The talent this team once had has left the building. Instead the GM guiding through a revolving door that would have replinished the team, he let them go through the one-way emergency exit. Snafu
well put. When I left the dome after the NFCC game; I was sure we'd come back stronger. I had no idea; that was it.Not me man. I knew it was over after that. After allowing consecutive 17 point comebacks in the playoffs I knew this team would be broke mentally. mc
Bad coaching. Can't make plays on bench. Ask a. Smith, shembo, mass. Joke coaching staff.
The Shotfather
When you can't draft in this league, it is shocking how quickly you can spiral into the basement. Ask Jacksonville, ask Oakland, and now you can ask us.
ballfan
Too many players over 30. Time to cut some dead wood. There is a reason armies send 20 year olds to war.

Theres been a tremendous lack of talent on this football team since then and that falls on Dimitroff's decision making.

ParanoidAndroid
TD overestimating his drafting ability without realizing that we have zero depth in any position. Never addressing the lack of pass rush that Abe halfway covered up.
TruthBTold
The problem is that we did not build the team from the inside out. Instead we were sold a Ferrari body with a Ford escort engine. When we chose Ryan (love him or hate him he is our quarterback so save the bashing or nuttt hugging) we gave him weapons and neglected to "put oil in the engine" (build both lines and depth) causing us to get smashed in the playoffs (like only scoring 2 points against the giants). On top of that we seem to have ownership that insists on bringing in yes men (Jim mora jr & mike Barney rubble smith) instead of being able to co-exist with real football men (like two we interviewed and didn't hire that went on to go to superbowls and be coach of the year candidates/winners one being a ga tech alum Also disrespecting the only coach to ever take us to a Super Bowl by taking out a full page ad in the AJC). Add in a stupid falcon filter AKA "stay soft machine" and we have an organization with no leadership that can't absorb media bashed players such as Dez Bryant (and many others that teams you claim you want to be ... Like the patriots pick up on a regular basis). As a result we have to give away a gazillion draft picks for Julio (who I like even though fragile). I say all of that to say this. ARTHUR PLEASE UNFOLD YOUR ARMS, GET OFF THE SIDELINE, FIRE ALL CLOWNS AND YES MEN, HIRE FOOTBALL MEN, AND GO SIT IN THE OWNER'S BOX AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOB!
