Flip Wilson
How does this list sit with you?http://www.best-sports-movies.com/top100.html
Flip Wilson
Here's another but I hate the format....http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1942431-the-101-greatest-sports-movies-of-all-time
Peyton
My observation about the first list is that if movies about poker and pool are going to be counted as sports movies, then they need to be given a fair shake, and the Hustler, Color of Money, and Rounders all need to be moved up the list. Also, 16 and 17 struck me odd. Glory Road at 17 and Coach Carter at 16. I thought Glory Road was spectacular and Coach Carter was just OK. I'd move Glory Road up a bunch of spots and Coach Carter down a bunch of spots. Also I think He Got Game is a better movie than a bunch of the movies in front of it. Peyton
Also Bull Durham is way too low. Pretty funny that they write about how it is often considered the greatest sports movie of all time but it is number 14 on their list.
Peyton
The second list has Glory Road ridiculously low.
Peyton
Ok, this second list is all jacked up. I am only half way through it but I already know that.
Flip Wilson
This type of stuff is so subjective but neither of these list are even close to accurate for me.
Flip Wilson
The second list has Glory Road ridiculously low.I liked Glory Road better than Hoosiers......not just a little better.....much better.
Flip Wilson
WFW took one second and thought of:Pride of the YankeesRudyI am ashamed to admit that I have not watched Pride of the Yankees in its entirety. I could say that about a few of the older movies on that list.I have always felt that Rudy was a little overrated.
falconsd56
Any list of sports movies that does not have Major League in the top 5 is a farce and the list maker should be excommunicated to Canada.
Maverick
Not a big fan of this list. The top 2 I can agree with, but Caddyshack should be closer to the top 10.
Tootie Quivers
White Men Can't Jump should be higher and Vision Quest > all the others.
Peyton
The first list seems like it is pretty old.I think the movie Warrior is my favorite sports movie of all time, and I'm not even a big MMA fan.The first list doesn't have it at all, probably because it is too new. The second list has it at 39. I think that is way too low, but at least it is on there.
Peyton
Wow, serious disagreement between the two lists on Hoop Dreams. Not sure which I agree with. It was a very interesting concept, but the actual documentary was painfully boring at times.
cnasty
Eh, these things are always too subjective. Personally, I'd have Major League in the top 10, with the sequel being in the top 25. Anytime either of those movies are on tv, I will watch them, edits and all. The entertainment value is too high, even on a rewatch. Once you watch a movie like Rudy, how many more times are you likely to watch it? Sure, it's a great movie, but the replay value is extremely low, IMO. Again, too subjective. ukfalc
Films like Senna, Chasing Legends, and Close to the Edge should be up there.
