No De's Drafted Higher Than 4Th Round Under Td

How is this acceptable? In 7 drafts. No wonder we have such a GLARING need for a pass rush; we haven't even attempted to draft an edge rusher! Knowing we struggle with generating a pass rush & the lack of a playmaker at the position, explain to me how Thomas Dimitroff has any valid excuse for this. Absolutely unbelievable.

Yes we had Abe, but he got old & we had to move on. There was no one waiting behind him. I just cannot even fathom this.

4. Mario Williams - 1st rd

5. Cam Jordan - 1st rd

6. Junior Gallette - UDFA

7. Olivier Vernon - 3rd rd

8. Jared Allen - 4th rd

9. Chandler Jones - 1st rd

10. John Abraham - 1st rd

Except for a couple of guys, sack production is coming from guys drafted in Rds 1-3.

You get what you pay for. We rarely invest a top round pick for pass rushers and we are paying the price.

Well to be fair in the 1st year they had Abe and a top 10 pick at DE that they thought might develop.

Then they did splurge on the 2nd best DE in the free agent market.

So there have been attempts but you also have to look at the development.

The Panthers, Bucs, and Saints have all managed to develop lower round guys into pass rushers. In the Saints case one was even undrafted.

TD is not the only one to blame. Sticking with the last dline coach for so long also deserves criticism.

Even the Pats had to realize that they needed to finally draft a pass rusher in the 1st round.

Chandler Jones is the biggest reason why their defense is turning around for the better.

I hope the Falcons finally take notice.

They won't until Blank starts firing people.

You do the top 20 and it gets even worse. 1st rounders take up the lion's share and everything else is more about a gem here and there.

What's funny is Bennett is second in sacks. Remember when you all thought bennett sucked.

Shouldve signed him instead of both freaking jacksons, but we have to try to reinvent the d@mn wheel every off season, smgdh.

I really do not find that fact strange or damning at all

You make it sound as if they had not tried anything but low round picks ----not true

they tried other things---they just did not work out

08 Babs,. Abraham, Grady Jackson(re-signed) and Jamaal Anderson were here

JA was a high draft pick and they were stuck with him

11 they brought in Ray Edwards --suppose to help a great deal ---did not work

13 they brought in Osi Umenyiora--do not know the results of that YET

so low rnd draft picks were not the only thing being done

I didn't say they weren't doing anything else. Who has TD brought in himself or drafted himself that has produced as a pass rusher....? I'll wait. He has been here for 7 drafts & free agency periods. What he has done is just unacceptable.
