Randomfalcon12
Yeah we are the visting team so the game should be broadcasted on FOX not CBS.
Theyhateme : )
I thought that CBS showed all AFC games...regardless.
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
I don't think its the visiting team, I think its the home team. The Bills/Bears were on Fox here this past weekend and the Bills traveled to Chicago
dmite
Normally true, but I think something happened in the off season that relaxed these rules. Might be because of CBS buying the Thursday Night broadcast rights.
Randomfalcon12
They actually have some specific rules on which network will carry the game. The network that broadcast the game is always suppose to be from the visting team. If you check through a few weeks of the schedule, you can see that our game is the only case of this not being true. dmite
I thought that CBS showed all AFC games...regardless.From last year and many years before, CBS always showed AFC games and games where AFC team was visiting an NFC team. Fox showed NFC and NFC teams visiting an AFC team. This year it has changed.

Randomfalcon12
But CBS doesn't show NFC vs NFC and neither does Fox show AFC vs AFC correct?Yeah that would be correct for previous years, not sure whats going on now.
dmite
That would make sense, thought it was odd when I saw CBS was broadcasting.Yeah, NFL's purpose of Thursday night games was to get their network entrenched in cable/satellite packages. Now that it is, they're going to sell the rights to those games and make more money. Smart business decision. CBS only bought the first 6-8 weeks though of Thursday night games, which maybe means they could keep one that would've gone to Fox each week during that time. Who knows. slamee101
I think dmite is right. In the past it would have been Fox b/c an NFC team was the visitiing team and that dictated coverage but I think it's changed now. Buffalo played at Chicago last week and I think it came on Fox. Sir Joe™
For the UK fans, just a reminder we're live on Sky Sports this week.
xmarksthespoy
Fox aired Bills @ Bears last week which was the first cross flex.
FalconsAirMiles
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000343369/article/2014-nfl-schedule-flex-games-can-now-start-in-week-5The "cross flex" mechanism will serve a similar purpose. Select games can be flexed between CBS and FOX. In the past, a game with two NFC teams had to be on FOX and a game with two AFC teams had to be on CBS. Now, the league can theoretically move an all-NFC game to CBS or an all-AFC game to FOX in select cases. This will help balance out the television schedule, especially in a week where one network has all the most intriguing games.
FalconsAirMiles
also I remember reading somewhere where the CBS affiliate for atlanta did not get to broadcast any games because both of the games were on prime time. Keith
Wow, if you're Fox 5 in Atlanta or Fox 24 in Macon, you gotta feel screwed. Not only did you lose the Falcons - Bengals game to CBS this Sunday, you also lose to CBS the Falcons - Bucs next Thursday that you'd normally have.
