Dirtybird3
Yes Jake has a sprain but the fact that Clowney hasn't played a half yet let alone a full game yet. As much as it looks like he will be a terror to deal with you cant be feared if your on the sideline.

hjerry
4 months after the draft, the anti-Clownites, who often said that we were the ones that were obsessed, are still making threads about him.

DonOfThemBirds
Let's take a look at the top 10 shall we?1 - Clowney - Flashed some in preseason but is now out several games.2 - Robinson - Can't play LT yet and can't crack the starting lineup as a guard. 3 - Bortles - Hasn't played yet and likely won't for at least several more games.4 - Watkins - Hasn't shown what he can do because they don't have a QB, they should have drafted one.5 - Mack - Negative pass rush grade on PFF after his 1st game6 - Matthews - Moved into our most important OL position (LT) and is showing promise. Looked great vs NO.7 - Evans - 30 yards in his first game8 - Gilbert - struggled in his first game9 - Barr - Played well as a LB but is not in a pass rush role.10 - Ebron - We'll see tonight.I like where we stand. We absolutely made the right call with Jake.Bottles looked great in preseason, but the Jags still want to let him sit for a year.Vikings are using Barr in a Von Miller type role so he will only rush on nickel/sure passing downs. falconstwopercentsized
Cooks Mathews freeman are balling early for sure.
DonOfThemBirds
Agree on both counts. But the fact is, if Matthews continues to start at LT he's making more of an impact than any other top 10 pick so far.I agree.
NOVAFalconFan
Although I think Bortles should probably be playing, in which case it will be him.

The Great American
I'm glad we drafted Matthews but it's way too early to call anyone a bust.
Jesus
He caught his foot in a hole in their crappy grass. He isnt the first. One ex player is suing because the turf ended his career. Probably wouldn't have happened in Atlanta.
PrimitiveJN
Omg I don't know what the point of these threads are for. I never got the feeling that the FO were serious about trading up for Clowney. On draft day Dimi was gonna trade up and select Matthews anyway! Apparently it was so bad that they almost cancelled the game. The players wanted to play so they continued.

They let Matt Ryan slide to us, and now Jake Matthews.
Navin
Meanwhile, Jeremiah Attaochu got his first sack last night. I think this is the player that we will regret not getting.
