HEIST
The three of them played so well vs those Saints ends. Jake looked great until he got hurt (which appears to be a minor injury anyway) and then Gabe came in and looked like a fine replacement. Lamar didn't hear his name called much either! Psychic Gibbon
I had given up all hope once Matthews left. Holmes played well and Carimi played shockingly well. Tice has worked absolute miracles with this O-line.

Tony Diesel
Yes, this! MY heart sank when Jake went down but Gabe played great!
THE ICEMAN
Hawley wasn't to bad either the whole line played well considering the saints have some pretty talented rushers.
FuhRealDoh
The Oline gets the prize today in my opinion. Gabe. Lamar. Joe. Jake. **** , all of em! Go birds!!! Edited September 7, 2014 by FuhRealDoh

DriveHomeSafelyAtlantaWins
Actually, on his 1st 3 plays, Gabe looked TERRIBLE. I was really concerned. But he stepped it up BIG TIME. Very impressive to dominate on O with 2 backups on the line.
DriveHomeSafelyAtlantaWins
Hawley wasn't to bad either the whole line played well considering the saints have some pretty talented rushers.Hawley was F-ing BALLING. He was a BEAST in the run game.

TheFatboi
Have to admit they played wellI'm glad you're manning up about it. You along with SB said Holmes would never get better and didn't deserve to be on an nfl team. Gotta respect a man that can give props against his original thoughts. B_ELLIS24
I don't think they called Holmes' name all day today.
dmo_dlo
I thought Hawley played really well. He keeps this going and I'm due for some crow about him.
BigBoyCaprice
It was a thing of beauty seeing all that green space around Ryan and watching him have time to read the field. Matthews looked incredible and Carimi really stepped it the **** up. Brawley Hawley was Mauley in the run game.
TheFatboi
I don't think they called Holmes' name all day today. Not once. Gave up no sacks no penalties. Edited September 7, 2014 by TheFatboi
dmo_dlo
I don't think they called Holmes' name all day today.Let's not get carried away, there was a reason they benched him.
TheFatboi
The main thing is the pocket Matt had. A lot of the issue with the tackles last season was there wasn't no pocket if the ends tried to ride an end out of the play. A lot of guys didn't get that when I was saying this last season. Interior is way better. Whole line is.
TheFatboi
Let's not get carried away, there was a reason they benched him.He only missed one series. He played basically the whole game.
vel
Let's not get carried away, there was a reason they benched him.But did they call his name? Did he give up a sack. That's all he said and that's all that happened.
dmo_dlo
He only missed one series. He played basically the whole game.Because Jake got hurt, otherwise he probably wouldn't have played much.
dmo_dlo
But did they call his name? Did he give up a sack. That's all he said and that's all that happened. He had a very ugly pressure given up before he was benched though. One thing this game showed is that he's way more comfortable at LT than RT. vel
He had a very ugly pressure given up before he was benched though. One thing this game showed is that he's way more comfortable at LT than RT.One pressure. Just like how this board lost their nuts when Hawley gave up that one pressure to Starks in the PS. The guy was invisible. You can't give me a handful of bad plays in pass pro from Holmes.
Return of the Gaucho
They gave up pressure and push back but not the catastrophic screw up that doomed this team last year. Thankfully Matt gets the ball out really quickly, but I have no illusions that they played well. What they did do was play well enough to give the offense a chance. Matt had a lot of contested throws and throws with his OT's back in his face, but he still had an extra half second he didn't have last year and that was the difference in the game.I said all offseason, this line doesn't need to be great. If they can be average, and Matt Ryan is his usual self, this O will not be the reason we lose games.
