When Psl's Hit I'm Out After 16 Years

Recommended Posts

Literally nobody cares that you won't be renewing your season tickets.

Maybe you should feel fortunate to have been able to be a STH for 16 years.

Should every person that couldn't afford regular season tickets come here crying about it?

yea your a real A** hole!

Good luck to all you bragging about your 100" TVs cause I have a feeling the Pantheon will not sell out and the home games will be blacked out. Have fun watching Art Linkletter on Sundays.

Blacked out games are about to be a thing of thr past........ TV is were the real revenue is........ Pantheon will sell out and the Falcons will be a winning team........

They'll sell out just based on ticket scalpers. You think a billion dollar decision would be made if they thought it wasn't going to sell out? Come on..

Many STHs like Big Dog will take the same route. There will have to be a shtload of new scalpers in the market. Don't expect the ticket prices to be lower either. Blank will make his money on luxury suites and by getting out from under the current GWCC deal which is ripping him off.

I'm sorry that you think his 1st world problems are worth sympathy over. Lots of people are doing good to eat these days.

And I'm sure you live with no air conditioning in a hut with no cellphone or any luxuries and just ride a bike to work every day so that you can give all but what you need for basic necessities to people in third world countries right? We're all first world people with first world problems man.

Ironic that the reason cited for the new stadium was to improve the gameday experience to compete with better TV's at home. I guess they didn't even consider that price was a key issue for some fans, and raising the price wouldn't exactly solve that. Paying a few thousand extra for a fantasy football lounge (paying to watch TV at a stadium) or 50-yard bar (with even more expensive beer) should get people off their couches, right? Right..?

Yeah, that was THE reason.

Clearly. My point was that one reason they gave for it early on was buIIshit.

Oh ok, you said it was the reason originally, not one reason. Got ya. I think it will improve gameday experience for fan goers, it'll just cost more. Price of getting new fancy things, the way the world works.

Paying thousands more for season tickets with no other benefit (first-buy rights to other events in the stadium) sounds ridiculous, but if Blank can find 70,000 suckers/millionaires to pay up, good for him.

I never once said I was, but I'm not going to show sympathy over somebody that has been a STH for 16 years, but can't afford it because of PSLs. I'm sorry, but there are many worse things to worry about.

Let's say it's $1,000 for the PSL. You keep it for the 30 years in your family, it will end up costing you $33.33 per year by the end. I don't like the idea of PSLs, but they aren't as bad as people make them out to be with these "paying thousands more for season tickets" exaggerations.

Personal Seat License. It's a one-time fee you pay fir the right to buy season tickets for the same seat, in this case for 30 years. Teams charge them to help pay for cost of building stadiums, but sometimes they give the fan the first right to buy tickets for that seat at any event at the stadium (like Superbowls). One problem with the Falcons PSL program, based on the details they sent to GWCCA a few months ago, is that the fan won't get any extra benefit, and season tickets for every seat will require buying a PSL. In some stadiums, lower level sideline seats can cost $10,000 before you even pay for season tickets that year. Some season ticketholders canceled their tickets because they can't afford the higher cost, or just don't see the point of it. Also, if you don't buy season tickets every year, you lose your seat and don't get your PSL money back.

Now that you mention it, I just saw recently the Revel Casino and Hotel just closed in Atlantic City after less than 3 years. How much investment money went up in smoke? Somewhere around 2.5 Billion, so don't pretend that high-rollers like Blank can't miscalculate and screw the pooch on huge projects.

It depends in where you sit, but some do cost thousands. Per seat. Sideline seats downstairs cost $1500 right now, so $1000 extra per seat is a big deal. And that's assuming it's only $1000. And if you don't renew one year, you don't get your seat or your money back. If it included first-refusal rights, it may be a worthwhile investment, but this program boils down to paying much, much more to just see the Falcons and help them pay for the stadium.

Here's a news flash for some people: The falcons dont have the fanbase like teams with tradition have. One bad season, and people will turn on this team and you'll be able to get free tickets (alot like last year). Up north teams like green bay, chicago, pittsburgh, new england....basically the waiting list is so long someone has to die before you get season tickets.

I've gotten to the point where this whole organization is run poorly from the top on down. I think you are gonna see this team lay down again this year, once they start losing in the regular season. So...Blank, Dimitroff, Mckay, Pioli, etc......Get your selling shoes on, boys.....!

Bingo, this team hasn't won enough to justify charging more, and people won't go all in with a team that hasn't earned it. The PSL program is causing even some long-time fans notto renew their tickets, and the average fan will be replaced by the corporate crowd. Blank can't afford another bad season with all this money on the line, so if this team misses the playoffs this year, someone or everyone is fired. If this team doesn't win a Superbowl or at least make a deep postseason run, Blank may fire everyone anyway.

I guess the Cowboys and 9ers earned it based on their rep 20+ years ago?
