So Willy Mo Is The Last Man Standing From The 2009 Draft

Recommended Posts

Terrible draft overall. Look at some of the names:

Aaron Curry

Jason Smith

Mark Sanchez

Darrius Heyward-Bey

Aaron Maybin

Larry English

Josh Freeman

Peria Jerry

Beanie Wells

Over half those guys are not in the league or not signed right now. None of them are with their current squad and that's just the 1st round.

Matthews Stafford - above average

BJ Raji - above average

Michael Crabtree - above average

Brian Orakpo - above average

Brian Cushing - elite when healthy

Clay Matthews - elite

Jairus Byrd - elite

LeSean McCoy - above average/elite

Willy Mo - above average

Thomas Morstead - elite

Wow...that is horrible. I reserved elite for top 5-10 at their position.

looking at the first round, i like andre smith, alex mack, brian orakpo, and clay matthews.

cushing hasnt been awful. crabtree hasnt been awful. matt stafford is average. raji sucks. willy mo is solid. byrd is solid.

then there is shady, who is the best in the game.

after that, ....not much. awful draft

The NFL should have a rule where if you want to "Pass" on picking in a round you get to add that pick to the next year's Draft, same round.

This way if a certain year is mediocre with talent..........s.crew it...........wait till next year.

that is kinda like what the houston astros did in the mlb draft this year. not exactly, but kinda

Yeah, Cushing has been pretty good whenever his is on the field.

The problem is that he has not been on the field much in the past 2 seasons with back 2 back knee tears.

In hindsight I think most of this board loved the Jerry pick at the time including me. We needed DT worse than anything then and he was by far the best available. Fker tore up the SB and fit BVGs scheme ....I remember his first game vs. the Fins he was a holy terror. Next game he blows his fkng knee ....chit happens, picking him was NOT a TD brain fart, it was the pick he should have made at the time....

I'd think that would work only if it adds to the end. Not something like, I have the #1 this year, but the QBs suck so I defer and go back 1 year for the #2 pick or if I'm at #15, go back and get the #16 of next year.
