KingTwan
The Falcons don't want a top-tier pass rusher, that would send the wrong message. It would imply they think just pressuring the QB isn't enough, that you actually have to rattle his teeth, put him on the ground and sack him to get the job done. We've got a whole boatload of players who can usually get within five or ten feet of the QB before they throw the ball, except on third down of course, so I'm pretty sure the brass feels we're all set in the pass rush department.I feel the same i believe both our lines are set with quality depth now its time to mesh and play championship football
Lornoth
I thought yall boys said all we need to do is get an interior push that will collapse the pocket and let the edge rushers eat? What happened to that theory? The interior push was most needed, and will help create opportunities, but we need someone that has the ability to actually take advantage of them now. high impact
This defense will be tired come 4th quarter. I am not looking forward to them trying to get off the field.

falcon057
with the changes that have been made, I think we see a lot of happy feet if nothing else and those usually mean INT's
AlphaOmega
I really think the run defense won't be a problem this year with the addition of the beef up front. But the pass rush worries the hellll out of me. I don't see anyone on the edge that strikes fear in our opponent. If we can't get off the field on third down consistently, we might be in for a long season again. This year and 1-2 more years (2016) is our rebuilding process
falcon057
This year and 1-2 more years (2016) is our rebuilding processwell if 2008 is any indicator these boys don't take 3 years to rebuild, I never saw 08 turning around that fast did you? BayouBengalz
I was worried about our pass rush this time last year as well, but little did I know Cam and JR would emerge as pass rushing threats. So you never know, a guy or two on the roster may establish himself as the pass rusher your looking for.
AndySG
I would be ecstatic if somebody decent was cut and we ended up grabbing them, but not giving the opposing QB a clean pocket was the priority and I think we have accomplished that.
Keith 3:16
So the 2014 Falcons should draw comparisons to the 2008 not the 2013 Falcons....is that what you are saying?

If so yes, because most of 2013 starters on d-line and o-line or now back-ups. lbs and cbs or now on 2 year as starters, wr we have back healthy , and seem to be targeting sp.team stars. Do you remember 2012 d-fense when Nolan was able to run his scheme and totally confusing the QB ( brees 5 int, Manning 3 int ...) Hard to do when your force to insert rookies after 1st games to play. Got to put them where they feel the most comfortable just to make plays

Truth.
well im just happy we got BEEF up front to stop the run. i cant watch us get gashed up the middle anymore, and i dont think i will have to anymore. yeah, there are edge rush questions, but ****, ill take that over interior issues all day
freebird310
I think at the very least it should be much better than last year just for the simple fact of the 3 huge down lineman we acquired and Beerman is back..

Our absolute worst season in TD era, was our 2nd best in term of sack production. Last season a lot of young guys & rookies was forced to play (Massaquoi, Trufant, Alford, Goodman, Maponga, Bartu, Warrilow, and Motta) making Nolan have to be less aggressive than he was in 2012 when we were13-3 and forcing turnovers. With all the snaps those players mentioned above received last season should only help this year. Especially with starters returning or filling in spots where starters were needed (Biermann, T Jackson, Soliai). In the 3-4 QBs won't know where the rush is coming from.
