Are you trying to say Matt Flynn is a franchise QB?

He sure as he11 isn't now. Is he?

The problem is that "Franchise Quarterback" is a completely arbitrary term. It's application has nothing to do with whether or not a guy is any good. Remember, he did not say elite quarterback.

Example. When the Raiders drafted and signed Jamarcus Russell, by definition, he became their "Franchise Quarterback". He wasn't worth a flip, but he was their "Franchise Quarterback".

So the problem here is not Matt Flynn. The problem is the arbitrary statement.

Nevertheless, this example does serve as further proof that we should follow the Seahawks example. They saw that they miscalculated. Instead of sticking with him and propping him up like we do with Matt Ryan, they cut bait.

Just shut up. You are a fool with a fool's agenda.

Not worth the time or effort to formulate a response. Matt Ryan is clearly one of the better QBs in the NFL, to all the folks that matter. You don't.

Ok. Slow your roll bro.

When you say one of the better qb's, I think you should tell me exactly where you are ranking him. Then we can have a better idea of where each other is coming from.

That's semantics man. He's in the upper echelon. Period. Exactly where is preference based. But he is undoubtedly in the top half. And most likely Top 10

What's not to understand? Ryan won 14 games two years ago and lost a close NFCCG. Instead of rewarding the most accomplished QB in team history with a market-value contract, TD should have known that he was only going to win four games last year and cut him for his undrafted, untested backup. That could have saved us a lot of money and resulted in TD being laughed out of the league for being the biggest, stoopidest, azzhat in the profession. It's not complicated.

You guys jump from one arbitrary term to the next. That should tell you something. You are being intentionally vague.

Secondly, when you classify a person as being in the "top-half" of ANYTHING...

You're calling him average.

In that case I would agree. Matt Ryan is average.

Average quarterbacks don't deserve $20 mil per year. Average quarterbacks should not be above reproach or competition.

This isn't about OPs point. This is about some childish notion that any franchise QB in the league actually competes for their job.

Nick Foles.

"There's always competition," said the Eagles head coach. "I think you can ask Nick that, too. I don't think Nick's going to think, 'I can go out and throw 12 interceptions in a row - which he'll never do - but I'm your guy.' "

Who me?

No... lol

Flynn was a backup done good who was sent to Seattle and lost the starting job. Can't be a franchise QB if you were never the starter to begin with.

You should do a better job of stating your position Tuggle. When you say Flynn "lost the starting job" and then go on to say, "Can't be a franchise QB if you were never the starter...". It makes it easy for me.

Arbitrary term? Why do we even go through this exercise? I'll say he's Top 10, you'll disagree. I'll pull his Top 10 stats, you'll mention playoff wins. And the carousel goes around and around.

If you have a #2 franchise QB then you don't have a #1........... Does not happen in this league........

Then they both aren't the Franchise QBs. One is, one will be. Both are not it simultaneously. Closes thing I've seen is Kaepernick and Smith.

Yall pick which one you want me to debunk.

I'm not gonna prove right is up for one of you then turn around and prove right is down for the other.
