How Come Julio Jones Is Still Not Able To Participate ? Something Odd

Recommended Posts

OCT-15 he had surgery

DEC-8 report that he is off crutches

"Julio is continuing with his rehabilitation," Smith said. "He's off the crutches. It was a non-weight-bearing (injury). That's usually the process that you go through when you have a leg injury."

March 26 report

Falcons coach Mike Smith stated at the league meetings that Julio Jones (foot surgery) is "running and ahead of schedule."

Anyone who has ever riden a horse knows riding with your heels down of your foot is strenuous on YOUR FOOT

Coach Mike Smith said Julio Jones (foot) will be limited during voluntary workouts.

"He will be able to get out on the field and do some walkthrough stuff with us when we start going," Smith said. "Our focus on Julio is one thing, and that's having him prepared for our opener. He's progressing well." The Falcons previously said Jones was ahead of schedule. Jones may not do much before training camp, but he'll be ready in plenty of time for the season opener.

How is Julio Jones allowed to go HORSE BACK RIDING but can't participate in walk throughs ?

What's going on

Remember how you spent months claiming that, since Ryan hadn't signed his extension, the Falcons weren't going to sign him to the extension? Then he signed his extension? Same thing here.

Falcons are going to be cautious with Jones, and horseback riding at a slow pace is hardly a strenuous exercise. If you can show pics of him on a horse at full gallop, you might have a point, even then, as long as his Dr. cleared it, I'm fine with it.

Do you know horseback riding has more accidents then motorcycle riding ?

Yes even at a slow pace horseback riding is strenuous on the foot

Looks like they are up on a hill as well

Lisfranc injuries are most often caused by some type of trauma, which can be either direct or indirect. An example of direct trauma would be dropping something on the foot. Indirect trauma usually involves a twisting of the foot after it gets caught on something. Lisfranc injuries account for about 1% of all fractures. They are not common, but sports medicine doctors tend to see the injury more frequently. Lisfranc injuries can occur in car accidents, military personnel, horse riders and in many sports (football, baseball and soccer, to name a few.

Unless it states in his contract he can't do it, He can do whatever the **** he wants in his free time.

Then he should be on the field doing walk thrus . If he is healthy enough to horse back ride

he should be healthy enough to get on field and do walk thurs and start learning his craft more and developing his game better with route running and such

unless he is not healthy

Again...If the Falcons say Julio you are sitting out today just do some walk thru's...What do you expect him to do? Its the Falcons call on what he does in practice.

It is Julio's call on what he does outside of football and in his own personal life. You make a big deal about non issues.

Why are the Falcons holding out Julio and not Baker ?

How do you nbke it's the Falcons holding Jonss out?

not Jones saying he isn't ready

you are making some assumptions

At least, he will be come training camp, according to Falcons coach Mike Smith, who told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that both Jones and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon won't be "doing a whole lot" during the team's offseason conditioning program or full-squad minicamp later this month.

"Our focus is strictly on getting them ready to go for training camp (in late July)," said Smith, who told reporters in April that his star wideout was ahead of schedule.

Not touching this subject again because the dude has said this like 3 times this offseason.

It has been reported quite a few times that the Falcons don't want to rush Julio back on the field and want to bring him along slowly.

I heard on NFLN a few days ago that the Falcons plan for Julio to start back doing football activities after a few weeks into camp.

We shall see . I hope to see him out there during camp
