NC restaurant banned guns, got robbed at gunpoint

A barbecue restaurant in Durham, North Carolina, was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday night, despite having posted a sign on the door banning weapons, including concealed firearms.

According to ABC 11, three men wearing hoodies and carrying pistols entered The Pit from the back, assaulted two of the employees and made others lie on the floor. The assaulted employees, though, are doing well.

Are operating under the assumption that

1. There would've been a customer with a gun in the restaurant at the time of the robbery

2. Said customer would've successfully used his gun to apprehend or disable the criminal

AND

3. Other establishments that allow guns never get robbed?

Seems legit.

How about you put a "Gun Free Zone" sign on your front window. That should make you feel safer.

that perception is completely wrong

up until recently, the right to bear arms was not really regulated. that was the the norm

now you have people who are insisting on changes to the accepted norm and the burden of justifying that change should fall on them.

the reasoning we are given is that it that it will reduce crime. if that is not occurring, then there is no justification for a change

But the argument is also being made (implicitly) that by disallowing guns, this particular restaurant exposes itself to more robberies. Apparently, gun carrying restaurant owners never get robbed?

I suppose a restaurant doesn't expose itself to more robberies by posting a sign on the window that says "No bills other than $20s and $50s in the safe with combo 35-21-14." But at the very least, it's been well documented that criminals tend to take advantage of people that follow the rules.

Every security expert on the planet begins with the advice of not making yourself the easiest target on the block. This business went the extra mile of advertising it.

nobody said that

what was said is that banning them didn't stop crimes committed by people with guns

Because in the western frontier days when everyone was packing nobody ever committed a crime?Been on a old school western, fiction and non fiction, here lately.

Remember those old westerns where the townsfolk would run and hide while the two gun-fighters would shoot it out at high noon? The townsfolk who let the bad guys run the town, destroying proptery and abusing the women and children... those were the liberals.

Now imagine if the good guy in the white hat wasn't allowed a gun and just started posting "gun free zone" signs instead of confronting the bandits...

Then you know what happened to the Dalton gang.

Coincidentally Bill Powers, one of the Dalton gang members killed that day is actually in my family tree.As to the point I was

trying to make.....Yuengling Lager and Moonshine were speaking for me so I am unsure what it was.I may consult with them again and report back tonight.
