Would You Be Shocked If We Traded For A Pass Rusher?

Recommended Posts

I know, I know. Let's give those players we just drafted a chance. We were clearly interested in an edge rusher, though, and missed out on our main targets. TD has shown that he has no problem trading for players. I don't know who we could get, but would you be shocked if we traded for a DE/OLB before the beginning of the season?

To be honest, that actually crossed my mind after the draft.

The pass rusher would more than likely have to be scheme versatile though.

We will probably have to wait and see over the next 2-3 weeks to find out who is cut or put on the trade block now since the draft is over.

I really like the thought of competition between the pass rushers on the roster already but if the Falcons have a chance to get an already proven productive pass rusher then I'm all for it.

Does no one have faith in what we have.

I got a feeling with the added size and physicality we have brought in the pass rush will pleasantly surprise a few.

I honestly don't see the point going out and trading for a guy.Realistically who could we get.I hear Brandon Graham's name mentioned on here I'm feeling much like Osi his fit is now not here.

I don't no what the answer is but I guess we'll have to roll with what we have and wait till next off season to sought it properly.

I'm all for competition among all the pass rushers already on the roster but if the opportunity to get a proven pass rusher comes then I can't see any team turning that down unless they are absolutely stacked at pass rusher or have a horrible cap situation.

If a proven pass rusher is available for the right price, then go for it. As long as the pass rusher isn't over the hill.

The fact that we attempted to trade up for Dee Ford tells me we don't have THAT much faith in what we have.

I don't know if we trade for anyone though. I love Graham, but he projects better as a 4-3 DE so I doubt we trade for him. He would be an upgrade over Osi and played OLB last year so who knows.

Without a doubt but honestly how many proven guys would you get at this stage of the off season really.

The only situation I can think of is if we got a team changing away from a 34 scheme and the player didn't fit or a guy you mentioned you didn't want a guy on his last legs and we already have that in Osi.

This is it we tried didn't get our guy so really we don't have that many options Graham's a 43 guy I would'nt do it.

I just don't see a fix here.

True, crazy things have happened before though.

I don't really see it happening but you never know. I have thought about the scenario though.

I would be a little surprised, we didn't go hard in F/A, we didn't draft one (maybe Shembo) they might feel confident in the ones that there. Not saying they wouldn't go after one in F/A, but who? At this moment , there are no "pass rush" specialist out there. They may feel that w/o having a player that is just that talented, they would rather keep the ones that know the system

Won't know until the next few days or over the next month or so.

Someone suggested brandon graham in another thread.

It'd be nice if say a Jarrett Johnson got cut http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2230/jarret-johnson

Former Nolan player still get a bit of pass rush, superb against the run

Or Donta Hightower from New England. A 2 year vet who's not great in coverage but good edge rusher

I believe that we have pass rushers already on our roster. However, for purposes of this discussion, I would take another look at Dion Jordan. The Dolphins drafted Juwan Jones, but he looks more like a RT. They might need a LT and another 4-3 LB.

Here is a fantasy type trade:

We get Dion Jordan and Miami gets Sam Baker and Sean Weatherspoon. How's that for a fantasy trade?
