Point is we have guys with some talent but like it has been for a while now we haven't developed any of them its basicly the same thing again this year but with different names.

I'm not saying we shouldn't draft guys like that more so we need to fix the problem we have in developing our young players and its the same thing on the other side of the ball as well our OLmen have been horrible in the development stage we have what 1 guy last year that we drafted and developed in Justin Blalock who was the only one worth playing and and this GM/Coaching staff didn't even draft him.

I don't think talent is the problem its the coaching these guys are getting And likely why they pretty much cleaned house last off season and if there isn't a major improvement Smith will be gone as well which may need to happen even though I think he's a pretty good coach I just feel he's peaked and players feel to secure around were as a new coach would have no ties to any players(And Gruden would be my guy).

Right now I'd be in favor of picking a tackle 1st unless Clowney or Mack some how fall to 6. If Matthews and Robinson are both gone I'd right now lean torwards Taylor Lewan but could easily take Aaron Donald as well he is quite an athlete to be listed as a DT I could see him more so like JJ Wyatt were he could easily Play DE in either a 4-3 or 3-4 and maybe even some 9tec LBer if he's rushing 99% of the time.

You've compared potential #1 pass rushers with guys who have complementary rusher written all over them.

No doubt

But there similar athletes and like Justin Houston could be developed.

But I so agree that there more complimentary pass rushers and that's my point the guys we could get in round two are complimentary rusher with high upsides

Day 1 caliber talent in most other draft years though.

Not really

This seems to be the case every year when it isn't

Now if you want to say a Guy like Greg Robinson or Aaron Donald or Jadeveon Clowney are not the type of players that come around every year then yea you may have a case but there guys like Dee Ford every year who have top talent and fall I'm the draft this year is no different than others even though it seems that way every year.

J.Houston had 2 straight years of 10+ sacks in the SEC, he didn't just do it one season. None of those guys mentioned performed like Houston in college

No doubt

But he was still the same caliber prospect say Dee ford is and like ford was a late day one early day two prospect

Had he been a top 15 talent (which he is now but wasn't then) he wouldn't have fell that far.

He developed a lot no matter the production he had in college doesn't matter who we take even at 6 we have to start developing our young guys

Last year turned out to be pretty bad. Those DEs taken top 10 are kind of shocking when compared with Clowney, Mack or even Barr.

Take a look at the names of rushers in the middle of 2012 round 1. You'll see a bunch of guys comparable to the "day 2" talent this year.

I hope whomever we draft is nothing like what we have already. We don't need another mid-level guy. We need a top tier rusher. No more stockpiling complimentary guys. We have enough of them and they don't have anyone to compliment. lol

The primary difference in all the guys you're comparing this year and the people on the team is athleticism.

Some of our guys have straight line speed, or strength, but a lot of the guys this year, even if they're not fantastic prospects, have that bend around the corner, and a little more burst.

A lot higher upside with those guys. I'm actually optimistic about a couple of our guys, but they don't have any next level athleticism.
