as FALCONS FANS, we have a great marriage between the Head Coach and the GM

and too a great one between the starting QB and the Head Coach. I, of course, say

marriage only as metaphor; these are NOT lifetime commitments.

I think MIKE SMITH is great but not so much great as steady. We have to assume

the clock is ticking. All teams including the Falcons in the NFC South have been

to the Super Bowl. The Saints and Bucks went and won while the Falcons went

and lost and so did the Panthers. I expect the Falcons to be in one of the next

three Super Bowls or more (cockeyed optimist). If they go and lose and don't

get back to it the very next year, Dimitroff has to ask Smitty to leave.

If our BIRDS go and win then Smitty gets a nice new but

short contract - 3 years tops and then gone.

Is the clock ticking on our QB Matt Ryan? Not so much, but here comes

the draft. Very UNLIKELY any of those exciting QBs would drop to the 4th or 5th

round. Think again. Teddy Bridgewater, according to most, has already dropped

out of the First. If he is available in the 4th or 5th, would you want him?

Whether you know it or not, you want the Falcons to draft a QB

if not this time certainly while Matt Ryan is in his prime similar to what

happened when Green Bay picked Arron Rogers while

Favre was still in his prime.

Now the draft is way too simple if the Falcons don't move up or down.

1st round get a pass rush blocker (OT); 2nd round get a mean defensive

rusher. Or, the other way around, 1st get a mean defensive rusher

then 2nd get the blocker. I like the blocker from Texas A&M

more than the one from Auburn, and I like TECH's Jeremiah Attaochu

in the 2nd (slime me, flame me) if it is a blocker in the 1st

I was against getting Clowney. After watching some YOU TUBE, I've changed.

Rams' Les Snead and Dimitroff are buddy-buddy. If the Texans don't take

Clowney, the Falcons CAN get him at TWO in the 1st, but how much

do you want to give up for him? I'M serious becasue there are

people on these boards who figure value much better than I ever would.

I can only say that I hope the only Round 1 pick to trade would be this year's.
