Don't Draft A Rb This Year Please...a Glimpse Into The Future

Recommended Posts

Why would we waste a pick on a RB this year when next year there is a 70% chance Todd Gurley will be available! He is the best RB in the nation and should be open to us as a 1st or 2nd next year as long as he stays healthy an we don't trade away our picks in a trade up!He can do it all catch, run, break tackles, etc. An I'm sure he doesn't wanna move to far from home in NC!So Whadda y'all think?Gurley 2015?

We can draft one in the mid rounds this year and still draft one next year if we really wanted to. SJax will likely be cut unless he has a real turnaround and there's really no way we resign Quizz. Who knows what will happen with Antone Smith. There's plenty of room to draft one now and still consider one in 2015.

The only type of RB I would want is a speedster like Sims,Archer,Thomas,McKinnon, etc. Then we'd have thunder(Gurley) and lightening (speedster from 2014 draft)

^^^This. We can grab someone this draft to be a complement to a burser back, like Todd Gurly.

You are talking about 1 guys that is the best RB prospect in the last 4 or 5 years. I know RB has become devalued, but Gurley is going to be highly sought after. Why would you try and hold off for 1 guy that you may have no shot at when you have a deep pool of talented guys that can add to your team. Having 2 good RBs isn't a bad idea.

-Bishop Sankey and Charles Simms are around backs. They may not be the biggest, fastest or toughest but they can do it all.

-Lache Seastrunk has good size and speed. Hasn't caught it as much but an addition to any team.

-Tre Mason is a tough bowling ball type with nice speed.

-Carlos Hyde is a prototypical big NFL RB that has been very productive.

-Devonta Freeman of FSU, not the biggest or fastest, but has some running skills

-Storm Johnson may be a 4.6 back, but he has size and can catch it and run it.

-LaDarius Perkins is a 195 pound SEC rb that has rushed for 1000 yards and can catch

-Host of other guys that could add something to a team: Henry Josey, Terrance West, Jerick McKinnon, George Atkinson, Darrin Reaves.
