Now we know why we haven't made a move for him...

The Philadelphia Eagles will use this year's draft to add a fresh flock of Chip Kelly-type players to the roster. Could they also be on the prowl for one of last year's draft-day stars?

Bob Grotz of The Delaware County Daily Times reported Wednesday night that the Eagles made an offer almost two months ago for Miami Dolphins pass rusher Dion Jordan. According to a league source, Philly attempted to package a second-round draft pick and linebacker/defensive end Brandon Graham in exchange for last year's No. 3 overall selection.

It's a single report, but it's not hard to connect the dots considering Jordan shined under Kelly as a defensive end at Oregon. He struggled as a rookie in Miami, though, battling injuries and failing to pick up the scheme in time for a Dolphins defense that saw him play about 20 snaps a game.

Jordan would make for a tantalizing fit in Philly's 3-4 scheme, but 'Fins coach Joe Philbin told reporters at the NFL Annual Meeting that Miami still had big plans for the 2013 first-rounder.

"We feel like with a full offseason, with more time devoted to his fundamentals, he will have a better grasp of the position that he's playing," Philbin said, per ESPN.com. "We do want to do a better job with the numbers and rotating in."

The Dolphins made the biggest splash in last year's draft by trading up for Jordan. There's still plenty of time for the Eagles to make another offer, but Miami's not about to settle for a second-rounder and a player Philly no longer wants.

They aren't dangling Curry in a trade....

Beat writer Sheil Kapadia sensed that the coaching staff doesn't see Vinny Curry as a great fit.

Remember that the Eagles reportedly fielded calls on Curry at last year's trading deadline. It's very possible that he'll be available again ahead of the draft, and some 4-3 teams should come calling. Curry is under contract cheaply through 2015, is just 25 years old and has produced when given opportunities. He posted four sacks and 22 quarterback hurries on just 337 snaps in 2013.

Would he fit in our scheme if we switch over to a base 3-4?

Well... I stand corrected. I remember some people talking about Curry but didn't remember the trade talks. I'd be tempted to give a 3rd for him but a 4th would be nice.
