Champ Bailey visiting the Saints, maybe another team

It took Champ Bailey a long time to reach his first Super Bowl, and it might take him some time to make people forget his recent form.

But that hasn’t kept him from looking for another chance.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the veteran cornerback is visiting the Saints, and may have another trip lined up, depending on the negotiations.

The Broncos couldn’t find enough nice things to say about him, but they also couldn’t get out of paying him $10 million next year fast enough either.

The 35-year-old Bailey has expressed a willingness to play some safety if need be (though the Saints are covered there), and his presence alone should help a team. But a foot injury and the inevitability of aging made him look like a different player last year.Champ Bailey in NOLA

Not sure if this would be a great fit, but it could pay dividends in Nickle and Dime packages. I just don't see Bailey as a #1 CB any longer.

Tatf falcons loved thinking of him at FS.

I'm sure that is changing to, "guy has no gas left and he has injuries."

Let's judge Ryan's success against Byrd in 2014, since what happened last year against Buffalo is of no concern to the NFCS 2014 title, whatcha say?

Read WRL's post above! Whenever the Falcons play a team well one year, that's how it's always gonna be from now on. That's exactly why they have a case full of Lombardi's!

Forget the fact that in most games last season, they couldn't get outta their own way.laugh.png

Dude, 311 yards a TD

White had nearly 150 of those yards on 10 catches

Byrd did not look well that game...was he sick?

In the Bills game Ryan had an 86.4 passer rating. That's below his season average of 89.6 and career average of 90.6

In that game, Ryan averaged 6.6 yards per attempt. That's below his 6.9 season average and career 7.1 average

Ryan had a 60% completion rate, that's below his season average 67.4 and career 63.7 average

Ryan had a bad game even by last seasons standards.

Byrd only gave up one reception to Roddy in his coverage and only 3 receptions overall during that game.

Ryan didn't do well against the Bills in that game. Byrd certainly didn't get lit up.

That is a weaksauce argument there Jack. Over three Bills (no pun intended) in a strange stadium and city, won the game, no INTs had an 86.4 QBR, against a decent defense...WFW thinks Byrd was sick or something?

Not really an arguement. Those are just stats. Look at Ryans average and look at how he did against the Bills. Now, try too justify "Lit him up". Can't really do it can ya.

311 yards a TD and a win with Roddy consistently being double covered in Byrd's area justifies his bad game. Not saying the dude is bad, but that was not one of his better games Jack...WFW is just sayin'cool.png

That's not what you were claiming before, you said "we lit up Byrd...". Scroll back and take a look.
