Manziel Is Dazzling 'em At His Pro Day Workout

No offense but I hate when people use YouTube highlights. When have you ever seen a YouTube video that makes a player look bad

Did you watch the video? It's not highlights, it is just one play that shows his will to win. He's not even playing QB in the play nor does he even touch the ball on offense.

There is one huge difference. Romo fears the big moment. Manziel lives for it.

I wanted to kind of make fun of you. Thinking you can get in these guy's heads. But you can kind of see it can't you? You might be wrong. But I actually know what you mean. I think you might have nailed this.

But Manziel is still at least as dumb as Romo. And I don't think as good character. I could never trust having that guy on my time. He's like Tony Romo (wreckless on the field), Matt Leinart (party boy), Ryan Leif all rolled into one. I'll pass.

How many players has Barry Switzer called 'an arrogant little prick'?

To say that other players are at the same level of arrogance as Manziel is absurd.

what exactly has Barry Switzer done in the last 20 years? Theres a lot of stuff thats different, game is changing

'college' QB.

Do you really think this guy coming in as a cocky asshat is going to win an NFL huddle full of grown men?

No question in my mind.

Dude took charge of his Pro Day yesterday, greeted everyone there, explained to them how things were going to work.

Those guys love that confidence in the guy. They love a guy who is living for the moment.

Has zero to do with pointing out a huge personality flaw. Him being a cocky prick has nothing to do with his game. It might have a lot to do with winning over an NFL huddle though.

If he performs, and I think he will, they will love his confidence.

that wont work in the NFL yet for him. He will have to earn his respect by the vets. I can tell you that right now. He can't go into his first training camp and tell them this is how it will be. He will have to earn it first

Yes I watched it but I stand by my comment. It's one of many that only show the good things he does. To say that this is what he's about with out showing the bad to compare the good against is pointless to me. If I wasn't on my phone I'd show you a video of Merrill Hodge breaking down a few bad plays by Manziel. I'm no QB expert but even I was thinking what is this guy seeing to make that decision?

I think you are overanalyzing just a bit. If you did the same thing you are doing to any college QB, you would come out of it thinking they were going to be a turnover machine.

You certainly would not have drafted Matt Ryan.

I dont think you can over analyze, TBH.

Look, maybe he just had a bad game. You never draw conclusions on a player from any one or two games. But the issues I see across the 4-6 games I've watched were on full display against LSU. Typically, I see a handful of decisions in any Manziel game that makes me shake my head. But they always seem to come in the same situation....a situation that he's going to see a ton more in the NFL...pressure. His response to pressure, regardless of where it comes from or how real it is, is to drop his eyes, focus on the defender(s) and try to run away. Sometimes he gets free and delivers a **** of a ball. But often, he hesitates, attempts to run away and, if he doesnt find a running lane, throws the ball up for grabs. Not always into a pack but always just lays it out there.

I see the talent...but I see the downside.

And all that was clearly planned and rehearsed. Why do you think he pushed his workout back? You do know that the school had its official pro day on March 5th. The planning and pageantry is too over the top for me and makes me question if he is truly as talented as people make him out to be why all the gimmicks? Seems like the goal is more to be the #1 pick than to just play in the NFL

I'd guess he (and any QB) rehearsed that pro day workout at least a dozen times. Probably many many more.
