Don't know what the FO has in mind here.

Option's as I see it.

1. Draft at this stage the guy I like is Calvin Pryor but it may take a trade up inot the late first to get him.

2.FA bring in a vet who that is is a ????

3. Do they have confidence in Motta or Ishmael to start..Not feeling it at all.

4.Swap #25 to FS allow Motta to play SS don't like it I'm not sold on 25's coverage abilities.

5.Bring in a guy like Champ Bailey ask him to play FS purely a stop gap measure but could work as his experience would be invaluable.

With the safety class not being as strong I gotta think if your looking for a starter it would have to be a guy taken inside of the first 2 rounds anything else is marginal at best.

Not really.

Motta was a 7th round comp pick and played 100x better than DeCoud.

Motta or Ishmael cant do any worse than DeCoud last season, so as of now it i addition by subtraction

I think in round 2-3 we grb a safety, or take one if we trade down. I dont think we bring anyone in before the draft. I could see a vet brought in cheap for depth as we seem to do most years.

I love this argument. You'd be surprised. It is very possible for someone to play worse than Decoud.

In theory, yes. But I doubt either of these two would shy away from contact likeDeCoud did.

If the staff felt DeCoud was an improvement over these 2, he wouldnt have been cut without a replacement in place.

You have to look at worse case scenario when making a football move, and push come to shove the staff though it was worth the chance of having to start one of these guys rather than pay DeCoud. period.

To my knowledge they havent even brought a FS in for a visit so.....

Motta was absolutely terrible and I will not be content with him starting next season.

We already have two guys with only one year of NFL experience in the secondary. I would prefer if we picked up a veteran like Chris Clemons.

He was not absolutely terrible.

He just wasn't good in coverage. Neither was DeCoud. Therefore Motta > DeCoud

Well it won't happen ...but it would probably work to

sign Hester and put him back there. Motta is a strong

Safety and makes a good backup or run stuffing specialist.

Hester has played corner, has good hands and would be

a killer returning interceptions.

It wasn't meant as an attack on you, per se. I'm just really sick of hearing this, not only about Decoud, but about Holmes, about Baker, about Douglas, etc.. It is always possible to put out someone that is worse, always.

What about Dimitroff's semi-yearly swapping of a 7th for a solid vet in the secondary with a couple of good years left in the tank ala Foxworth and Samuel?

NYG has a boatload of safeties on the roster...Dallas is cap-strapped and a Barry Church/Willy Mo combo would make us old guys trade in our Scott Case jerseys...
