To The Fans That Want Sammy Watkins...

Eric Ebron is a better prospect than a shorter WR3 in our offense.

Ebron is an Athletic TE that would Immediately fill an empty starting roster spot, who can also line up as our third WR in multiple WR sets. Ebron is faster than TG has been in 18 years and helps keep defenses from stacking the box and will be a great replacement for tony.

Ebron is a mismatch that defenses have to account for in this era of athletic TEs, and can be had even if we trade down and accumulate more picks.

CBS: COMPARES TO: Vernon Davis, TE, San Francisco 49ers - Freaky athletic specimens, both Ebron and Davis move like wide receivers, but have the size and length of tight ends to create mismatches in coverage.

In my opinion, we should trade down to the teens and Draft Ebron. It also gives us the most flexibility in the draft to fill all our needs because OLB passrushers can be had past the first day of the draft.

My ideal draft would be

1. Eric Ebron TE - Starter

2a. Morgan Moses OT - Starter

2b. Kyle Van Noy OLB - Starter

3. Deone Bucannon FS - Starter

4. Lache Seastrunk RB - RB2

5-7 Carrethers/Copeland/Michael Sam/ etc depth moves and starting FB

do we only have one pick?

Nope, we have 7. I just feel like you have to take a guy who can become an elite blocker or pass rusher in the first. That's my opinion & you are entitled to yours. I would love to have Ebron but we have too many holes in other areas. We have Roddy & Julio. All the weapons in the world are of no value if your QB doesn't have time to find them. I like the Moses pick. But I would rather stay put & draft an OT or Mack at 6 than to go your route.

do we only have one pick? Oline just needs competent starter at the RT spot. That is Morgan Moses. Also passrushers like Van Noy is not that big of a drop from Mack

I see you've edited your post. I would be fine with Moses at RT. But I don't see Baker as our starter for years to come. I feel we need to draft his replacement at 6 & let them play RT until his contract becomes expendable. I understand your side of things but I think staying at 6 is the much safe pick. We are essentially getting another first rounder with our 2nd due to how deep this draft is.

We need an Ebron type. There are very few good passing offenses without a good TE...most have a good TE and slot guy.

However, RT and pass rush are so much more critical, we have to go that way. I'm fine with a TE and tall WR in the 3rd or 4th round areas (they are needed) but we have to solidify our OL and pass rush. A couple of run stuffers and one OG aren't enough.

I think amassing more picks in a deep draft is probably a better strategy. I agree with what you're saying, but we have to admit that Baker is our LT for the foreseeable future. I think the replacement LT can and will be drafted in the next year or so if Moses cannot step up. The hole at RT right now is more important than a hole at LT in 2 years.

Watkins is by far a better prospect because he can play outside.

While Ebron could he's not going to strech the feild like a guy like Watkins will.

Plus Ebron also isn't near the route runner Watkins is nor does he have the hands Watkins does plus Watkins can also return kicks.

I'm not against picking Watkins if he's the best player on the board like say if both tackles Mack and Clowney were gone and is was done to say Lewan/Barr and Watkins I'd probably take Watkins at this stage but lewan would be a close second.

We already have 10 or 11 picks we don't need anymore take the best player there and move on of anything trade some of the picks and move up and get the guys you want.

I like the idea and your draft, except Bucannon. Why draft a thumper SS who can't cover when we already have WillieMo. We need to find a coverage FS who is not afraid of contact.

Edit: I also like Trent Murphy more than Van Noy: better size and just as versatile.

I also Like Trent Murphy. He is a big kroy Biermann, but his stock has gone down.

As for Safety. I will agree that I'm not well versed in them, but we have more options around the same pick like Dion Bailey and Jimmy Ward

Y'all are comical. We just spent a 4th rounder last year on a huge TE, albeit raw, but tremendous upside. He had to sit behind a sure fire 1st ballot HOF that transformed the TE position. Why so quick to give up on him? We have plenty of other holes and needs to fill then TE when we don't truly know what Toilolo will pan out to be in a full 16 game season.
