atlGM
How much you wanna bet spoon is gone after this season. Moving inside in a 3-4 will either make or him this year. Out of anybody on our roster the pressure is on for him thus year. Edited March 15, 2014 by atlGM

vel
Why do people want players gone so bad? First HD, now Spoon. Yes Spoon has underachieved, but Spoon's been asked to do so much more. Spoon is not a block shedding or stacking LB. He needs hogs in front of him to let him run and hit. He hasn't had that before. I wouldn't be surprised if he was healthy all season and balled out. WOR
Good. When average old guys and below average young guys get 4 mill a year, I can't imagine what spoon will get
cooperbh
I think whether or not Spoon figures out how to stay healthy enough to average better than 10 starts per season, as well as how to be effective while playing through injury, will make or break him this year. Tuggle'2
If he thinks he is worth good LB money he is going to be disappointed. So it could go both ways. He takes a modest contract or he walks and is somebody elses problem.

I said if he has another year other injuries and underachievs we probably don't re up on his contract. I want consistent production that's all
DonDaLuvMaker
Now with Soliai and Jackson in front of him, Spoon might actually have a breakout year.
Thiccolas Cage
I REALLY wanted Spoon in the 2010 draft and have to say that TD got the one right. However, I think Spoon hasn't lived up to his hype being injured and all. I don't know how he will do as MLB but I hope he steps it up this year. Romfal
Spoon needs to stay healthy and outplay Worrilow, otherwise he is gone or coming back for super cheap.

etherdome
I tend to agree with the OP. Spoon has not performed to expectations. He may, in fact, have a career season next year, but I think that he will be a cap casualty. I think that we will be able to find able LB's to play the inside, at a much cheaper price. He doesn't fit as an outside rush LB, so another team will want his skills in a more traditional 4-3 set up.
Falcon@Denmark
He has to prove that he can stay on the field and be a solid contributor on defense in order to get a new contract.Spoon spends too much time talking about what he could have done instead of just doing it.(And yes .. Injuries happen and it's hard to blame the player). Edited March 15, 2014 by Falcon@Denmark

But I do believe there is a good chance he doesn't get resigned if he has a nother subpar season. At least not for a high number anayway. capologist
Out of that list Julio and Roddy the only one I keep from that list and Maybe BryantYou say that but you still have to replace them. Further, you aren't going to let a dependable long snapper and a very good punter walk at this point. Even keeping those 5 players, that's still 12 players that you have to replace, 23% of the roster, including every running back not named Steven Jackson and 4 possible linebackers (Osi, Biermann, Dent, Spoon).Just something to think about... He does not play well at all under pressure and has hands like rocks. As for Spoon not being a block shedding or stacking LB then what is he good for? The symptom of what is wrong with this team. Players who aren't suited to what we need. Bierman is the perfect example. Everyone keeps hugging his nuts, but his production or lack thereof would not be tolerated on another team. Everyone loves him because of where he was drafted. Everyone loves Worrilow cos of where he was drafted. All you end up with is a team full of average players who were drafted late so they appear to be steals. Bierman doesn't even look like a DE let alone a LB. His build looks like a lazy trainers build Edited March 15, 2014 by The Chunk
