There's a worst case scenario that nobody's talking about. What if Mack, Robinson, and Matthews are gone, and nobody wants to trade?

if those guys are gone there will be only one QB taken in the top 5, so there should be some interest in the pick for the QB or sammy watkins.

for me it would be

you just can't beat having an extra second rounder in this draft considering we have 4 needs and 3 picks in the top 3 rounds right now.

Alternatively I'd like to see a TE sprinkled in your scenarios

Yeah that would be a nice draft with all of the major needs filled

Teams know that Atlanta isn't likely to pick a QB or WR, so they may call our bluff and force us to reach for OT or defense. Then they can trade up to #7 to have the same choices of QBs and Sammy.

teams have no interest in 'calling our bluff' they are trying to move up and take their guy, before the teams behind us get them.

Of course TG is not coming back, but I'm saying I think there are more pressing needs on the team than TE (OT, OLB, FS). I also don't think there's any way the Falcons trade up in this year's draft.

I agree on the needs, but they don't always align with the best players. Ebron is the only TE to consider. It's not a wasted pick to get a good player. It's only a wasted pick to get a bust. That usually happens when passing over the better player to reach for a need.

Exactly. In this years case, the Falcons are in prime position at six to get the BPA while also filling a need. I am not suggesting that Ebron would be a waste at all.

Maybe. Maybe not.

IMO, it's a mistake to bank on team liking the QBs available enough to trade up for them. And it wouldn't surprise me one bit if teams like the physical freak Mike Evans more than Sammy Watkins.

All in all, I find it highly unlikely someone is going to trade up for Watkins in what may be the deepest WR class we've seen in years.

Best Scenario:

1st Mack

2nd Hageman

3rd Attouchu

Holmes comes to camp in shape and plays EVERY down like he did in Buffalo (watch that tape against the 2nd best pass rush in the league)

That would be a nice scenario, but I don't think Hageman is available in the second round nor Attaochu in the third. Tuitt may be available in the second though.

Best case scenario:

Clowney

Robison

Mack

Matthews

Ebron

All declare they are unwilling to be drafted by any team but the Falcons and all declare themselves free agents and then we draft Sammy Watkins at 6

Lol prospects can't refuse to join a team or can they?

I would still trade down and take Lewan, Barr, or Pryor before Watkins though.
