ancient raptor
What is the potential of DTs like Daniel McCullers (352), Justin Ellis (334), and/or Ryan Carrethers (337) in the mid to late rounds? They all appear to have the size for NT.
Guest King Jigsaw
Don't forget Zack Kerr on your list.
Five_Fifs
Ellis is my favorite of the bunch.....haven't taken time to pay attention to Carrethers much, so I can't really contact him....McCullers seems to just be big, but as a later round (6th or so) I wouldn't be upset if they tried to develop him....I enjoy Ellis' athleticism in addition to his stoutness.....I'm not quite sure why he is a projected 4-5th round guy, aside from level of competition....I'd have no problem spending a 3rd on him. We need a guy similar to Soliai to spell him from time to time.....he's about as close as we realistically can get in this draft, aside from Nix, who I believe is out of our range....and it wouldn't make sense to draft early to be a back up for the next 2-3 years....... since68andcounting
I like McCullers cause he's sooooo huge. But evidently there are a lot of guys who don't. It's possible Louis Nix could fall to round 2. There hasn't been much buzz about him lately and he's coming off injury. But regardless, we MUST get another NT. You just cannot go into a season running a 3-4 without a backup at that position.

Imagine that front...Soliei, Nix, Jackson. The three of them practically outweigh our FOUR man line from last year.Either way, if Nix falls to our pick in round 2 we'd be a fool not to grab him. pzummo
I like McCullers as a late round pick. He's underrated because of how bad his team was. He played against a very high level of competition and held his ground. He'll need some development but I think he's the best bet for a late round prospect. dmo_dlo
I think Daquan Jones can be a rotational NT as well, though not a prototypical one.
Romfal
Beau Allen from Wisconsin is around 340 and probably will get picked in the 7th or go UDFA Edited March 14, 2014 by Romfal
Molson
McCullers isn't a football player. He is basically the equivalent of a high school basketball coach grabbing the tallest kid walking down the halls and telling him he's on the team. McCullers looked a little awkward to me at times. I liked Carrethers film too

Unintentional Grounding
Why so people only talk about Ellis and mcCullers and nix? No Kerr love in here!? Guy is freaking fast and hits like a Mack truck
pzummo
he isn't underrated. He just sucksHe's big, strong, has really long arms, and big hands. He is raw and needs coaching to improve his technique. But he's a better prospect than people give him credit for. Underrated. As demonstrated by your "he sucks" assessment. You are not getting perfect prospects late in the draft and his upside is worth a late round

Im all for it with etiher a trade down or two or him falling in the 2nd.

Macintez
McCullers best football is ahead of him if he lands with the right coach. He played at Georgia Military College before transferring to Tenn. He's inconsistent, but most if that can be attributed to his conditioning. Dude needs to lose about 10-15 pounds, he can't carry that kind of weight for 4 quarters and it's obvious. He gets tired after the first qt then after that he loses all of his explosiveness off the snap. He plays lazy which leads to him playing too high too often, which is a shame because when he's fresh he moves pretty d*mn quick to be so huge. He's definitely a project, but I like his potential. Even when he's dead tired, he can't be moved. He was also double teamed a lot, but people didn't notice because the linemen around him still couldn't make plays. I hope we trade down in the third to get some more picks and we end up getting him early in the 4th.
