The Atlanta Falcons recently considered bringing center Todd McClure out of retirement to bolster their offensive line, a source told FOX Sports.

The Falcons approached McClure about the possibility of returning during the team’s bye week in mid-October. McClure, 36, was willing, but the Falcons ultimately decided against making the move.

McClure, 6-1, 296 pounds, was originally selected by the Falcons in the seventh round (237th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft. He is the longest tenured current Falcon and set a franchise record with 144 consecutive starts from 2002-10. In 2011, he started all 13 games that he appeared in helping QB Matt Ryanicon-article-link.gif to throw for a franchise record 4,177 yards. McClure also helped pave the way for RB Michael Turnericon-article-link.gif, who posted his second-straight 1,300-yard campaign. He was named to USA Today’s All-Joe team following the 2008 and 2010 seasons.

I think it would be more so to work with Konz who played pretty well next to mcclure his rookie year at RG.

Konz and Holmes had no one but the coaches to lean on last year for help it makes a big difference when the guy right need to you may see something you need to correct instead of seeing it in the film room later that week.
