Darrelle Revis Unlikely To Be Traded By Buccaneers

Recommended Posts

Um... what makes you think Falcons wouldn't be interested in Revis still?

Um, his contract? Combined with our cap situation after yesterday's moves? This would be a STUPID financial decision on the part of the Falcons, and it's not how Scott Pioli operates. Dimitroff, maybe, but not Pioli!

When he's a FA, all bets are off. Falcons may not be able to sign him, but the Falcons are going to try.

his contract wont be a problem. He is being released and nobody is oging to pay him 16 mil so he will have to restructure. Again, id dont think we get him but this proves nothing

There's a way to drop his cap hit to 5.4 somehow. I'll have to look it up

Ian Rapoport@RapSheet 43m

If teams want to trade for Darrelle Revis, then convert his $16M salary into a bonus, the cap number would be $5.6M this year.

There's always ways around the cap and numbers, but I agree that move would come out of left field.

you do realize that Pioli works for TD right? TD is his boss. So he has final say so

So, are you totally discounting Revis' own words - through his agent and various media outlets - that he is not going to take a pay cut? I'm just asking?

read the rest of this thread. The cap hit for a team to sign him is 5.6 mil and yes i discount his own words. Its easy to say what you will and wont do until you realize that its either lower the number or sit your *** on the couch

Um, yeah, I realize that, but the moves the Falcons made yesterday had Scott Pioli's name written all over it. Hierarchy doesn't matter when it comes to not making a bonehead financial decision like signing Revis.

He won't take less money if he's traded.

If he's cut he has no choice

lol Revis can't force any team to pay him $16 mil a year. He will take a lower salary or retire if no team is willing to meet his demands

I'd like to be a fly on the wall at Flowery Branch and see what the real deal is concerning the Falcons' power structure.

And if TD decides he want Revis than we will go after him. Cause he is the man in charge. But nobody will pay him $16 mil a year. So no worries on that
