youngbloodz
Arthur Blank would be!He just spent over $100 Million on MATT RYAN.You think AB is going to stand to watch his second 100 million dollar QB take another beating like he did last year so that TD can take a complete and total risk on a guy who plays when he wants to...You're friggin nuts bro.How do you know what Arthur would be son? How do you know he would be mad?
Radiohead
that wasn't directed towards you, you've made valid points in your arguments, that was more towards someone questioning my fan hood,Yea Ryan got sacked more than ever in his career, he also lost 2 of his weapons from the start. And was playing behind a very similar line that he has played behind his whole career, I agree we need to upgrade the Oline I still just don't believe it'll be with the 1st pick, we are more likely targeting a true RT in the 2nd-3rd Rou ds as opposed to a LT(Matthews) who is better suited for LT(won't play that here) Robinson(who is a project) that's who u want protecting Ryan another project? People need to understand the LT spot is going to go to Baker or Holmes. I just personally think it'll be HolmesI got you man, and thanks for the props.I see what you're saying, believe me I do and the injuries were no doubt a factor, but the 2013 Offensive Line looked lost on nearly every play (I think there was one week where they actually looked like an NFL line, but that's all).It really felt like we were lining up a bunch of D1 walk-ons to protect our $100 million dollar QB and that is just unacceptable.Blank knew it and I guarantee you he communicated that quite clearly to Smith and TD.-- Just listen to the post-season presser, Smith goes on and on about how they were weak up front (to your credit on both sides), but that the QB was hurried and hit far too often for them to succeed. The O-line needs an overhaul. cooperbh
And your mistake is thinking that there won't be a really good OT at pick 38. Don't need elite OTs so much as competent ones- Holmes and Schreader may become that, Baker may return to health, the OT at pick 38 [36?] can become one.I guess my question is, what can you point to that suggests any of those things are likely to happen?Matthews is NFL ready with legendary bloodlines. He is athletic, smart, tough (never missed a game due to injury,) and versatile (Can play every position on the OL.) I think if you have a chance to acquire a player like that who can stabilize your offensive line for a decade, you have to take him. Those types of players simply aren't available at pick 38. Sam Baker is what you get at 38.

Radiohead
How do you know what Arthur would be son? How do you know he would be mad?Firstly, I'm not your son.Secondly, put yourself into his shoes. You spent $100 million on the player who is the only shot you have to make a run at the SB, within a limited time frame, after making it to the NFC Champ game and losing on the last play. Then, the following offseason, your O-line crumbles before your eyes in letting guys go, retires, and cuts. TD makes some questionable decisions to address a vaccuum of need and says all pre-season that,"we're comfortable the young guys can learn on the go... blah blah blah."Then, the season starts, your QB gets sacked 48 times and there isn't a game all season long where he actually has time to even look down field because the protection is completely unaware and ineffective. You wouldn't be a little bit mad about that...?I'm thinking you might. This is not a non-profit organization dude and ticket sales the past couple seasons were finally coming together. You think fickle ATL sports fans are lining up to buy tix again to see how a miserable 4-12 team can rebound? Lol well dont call me nuts cause I'm not crazy. Respect me if you want respect back. And I have already been on record saying I want Robinson. I want him more than Clowney now. He will be a stud. But Jake has already hit his ceiling to me. He will be a good player. But I think Clowney will be a great player. I think Robinson will be a great player. Chose great over good in this scenario

cooperbh
Jake never lined up at RG LG or Center in college. So how do you know he can play every position on the OLWell, that's his scouting report. "Powerful, technically sound and capable of starring at virtually any position along the offensive line, he's as pro-ready as it gets and a steal if available at this point."http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1737446/jake-matthews
Radiohead
we good man. And OL is a problem. And a problem I think Greg Robinson would fixI completely agree, we need as many new faces on the OL as we can get, if for nothing more than to show the current guys on roster that what they put on display last year is NOT going to cut it.On top of that, I really do think you're right. We need to use that #6 on an OT and Robinson could be special.

cooperbh
I would love to see Jake line up at centerHighly unlikely he would. Point is, he is versatile. He will likely be a fixture on an NFL o-line in some capacity for a very long time.
falconidae
Oh my god, by adding one Guard this O-line is much better than last year?!God man, you guys do not understand how an offensive line works, clearly. It is about cohesion of talent. Not only was there a huge gap of talent, but there was no cohesion at all.-- At times, it felt like 3/5 guys had no idea what the **** they were trying to do out there.Plugging in 1, hopefully, solid OG is not going to fix that. You need to bring in a wealth of talent and have them play it out in training camp and gel together as a squad so that they know WTF they are trying to do!Yes it will, and does.Ryan having a consistent pocket to step into will change everything. Having a TE that could block would help as well, same with a FB. Loved TG, but blocking was not his forte. Blocking TE lot easier to find than a LTFalcons will probably pick up a veteran swing tackle in FA and give themselves the flexibility to take the best player available at 6. And to cover themselves if both Matthews and Robinson are gone- a distinct possibility.
