Which Of Our De's Will Play Lb In 3-4 Sets?

Besides Biermann? Mass? Do we keep Osi?

And who all plays DE in 3-4 sets Jackson, Babs, and Peters play DE. Anybody else?

Biermann, Mass, Maponga make the most sense. But Spoon, Worrilow, and Bartu all have flashed pass rush skills as well. Though I think they all fit best inside.

Osi probably stays as a strict pass rush specialist in 4-3 looks.

I think Goodman could easily play DE in a 3-4 alignment. And probably Cliff Matthews, as well, though I'm not sure he makes it onto the final 53 this year.

And if Robertson stays, he is the logical choice to back up Soliai at NT. But I'd prefer an upgrade/competition in the later rounds of the draft.

Just my thoughts!

Id like to see us get another 3-4 OLB that can be stud pass rusher. But we dont look bad with what we have. Maponga is another guy we have. Edited by Mike Kenn

Biermann/Mass/Maponga=3-4 OLB ( Bartu potentially)

Jackson/Babs/Peters/Goodman=3-4 DE

This is the only one that made any sense to me at all (not that the others are wrong, necessarily, but I couldn't really totally understand what the others were trying to say exactly).

Can I ask why does Goodman stay at end while Maponga (and Mass) play LB in 3-4? I don't have any problem with it, just curious the rationale behind it.

A 3-4 DE's main job is to push the pocket and stop the run. At 6-4 275, he has the frame to add 10 or 15 pounds without hurting his ability. He has never been a great pass rusher, but his bread and butter was pushing the pocket and stopping the run. Maponga/Massaqoi's measurables, and skillset dont fit 3-4 DE. They are at their best when rushing the QB is their 1st priority. Neither in my oppinion are stout enough to handle that role. Mass was at his best in college as a 3-4 OLB. Maponga was a fiery player who stood up as well as put his hands in the dirt.My gut tells me he could be a contributor if used in an OLB rotation as well.
