Sun Tzu 7
Byrd is the word.....I would do cartwheels all the way home from work!I don't think Byrd is what a lot of people think he is.He doesn't have elite speed so he's not going to be an all over the field safety. When we played them he lined up 15 yards deep when he was the single high deep safety which took him out of the play most times.

No, he does not have elite speed. But he has elite instincts that make up for that lack of speed. And really, you'd only be asking him to split the field in half most of the time.He clearly has enough speed to do this
Da Bird is Da Word
Byrd is the word.....I would do cartwheels all the way home from work!Lol I would totally change my username to that if we signed him but with all the pickups and resigns today I think we already blew through a bunch of our cap space. If he misreads the play he'll be completely out of it... which happened a couple of times when we played the Bills.Remember that long SJ run?http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000290711/Steven-Jackson-27-yard-TD
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
He was also 15 yards deep.If he makes plays (which he does) why do you care if he's 8, 10, 15 yards deep? It's not like he has deficient speed...he's slightly slower than the top safeties of this class....

It's not like he has deficient speed...he's slightly slower than the top safeties of this class....He doesn't have the speed to make up and drive on anything underneath when he's 15 yards deep.Again, he has good instincts and he'll be a good addition but if people think he's going to be a guy that's all over the field I don't think that will be the case. I don't think you line him up and think he's going to take the middle of the field away like Seattle does with Thomas.... which is what I think people expect with a 9 million a year price tag. DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
And I don't think $9m is happening. If it were, it most likely already would have.

Sun Tzu 7
He's a good player but that was also a stupid decision by Palmer. If I could do gifs I could show you plenty of plays from the Falcons game where he couldn't get there in time but he did make the tackle.Again a good player but I think people are going more by the highlights and what they've read instead of taking a look for themselves.
