atljbo
We didnt exclusive rights tenders Kevin Cone or Drew Davis.TD talked about how the team just went down when we lost Julio .... I think we will look for an explosive WR in the draft.

takeitdown
We need to, just not in the first. Having a couple of top tier guys, and then UDFA's isn't the way to go. We need some legit 3rd rounders who can play. Not expensive guys, but guys with talent. There are lots of WRs and RBs who go in the 3rd and 4th who are legitimate...not world beaters but legitimate. slamee101
Yea, we've been so focused on OL, DL, and safety but past Julio & Roddy I think we can improve at that 3rd WR position and there's no reason for TD to let pride get in the way and to just stick with HD. JulioisCoolio
6th round WR Jeff Janis. Check this. He's 6'3'' 220. He ran the 40 in 4.42 seconds, had 20 bench press reps and a 37 and 1/2 inch vert. Here is the impressive part. 3.98 shuttle and 6.64 cone drill. For comparison Sammy Watkins (6'1'' 211) ran the 40 in 4.43, had 16 bench press reps, 34'' vert, 4.34 shuttle. 6.95 cone drill. Now, that would be a nice FA pickup, he plays specials as well as inside and outside at WR. Pioli being here gives us tons of inside info on the guy.But of course, if we get McCluster, then HD becomes expendable IMHO. And we knlow how our FO values HD. vel
Yea I realized this today. I don't blame them. Darius Johnson is the truth and this gives us room to add Dri Archer.
spiker
Losing Davis and Cone is a good thing. We need a good return man and better depth at Wr.

But really, when do you ever see white receivers go high in the draft? Doesn't happen often.

Dharma Initiative
I'd take Davis and Cone as our starting receivers if it means Ryan gets a wall to stand behind

hjerry
Well, to be technical, only Davis was an ERFA. Cone was a RFA. Also, where did you read or hear this, no that I'm doubting you of course?
hjerry
On topic, my favorite WR in this draft is Martavis Bryant. I'd probably be OK with taking him with our 3rd. I think that he could supplant Harry within a year, and easily be able to be Julio's #2, within a couple years, when Roddy retires.
roman42
They'll be gone by our top of the 4th round pick but I'd love to see us get Landry or Beckum
Lornoth
Probably less "We need to upgrade them" and more "We have DJ and HD, no need for these two anymore." No big loss anyway, Cone was a great ST player so i'm kind of surprised if he leaves us, but DD never showed much more than mediocre flashes. Falcons_Frenzy
Wait. No Cone or Davis? TD just stunted the development of Dominique Davis. /s
