Dharma Initiative
In not arguing with someone that clearly cant understand football past the very basicsAnd then that's the retort everytimeYou don't overpay guys to only get pressure and play the runs. It's like a QB that throws a bunch of yards but can't get the touchdowns

A QB passing it to the one and having your RB fumble at the goal line.
crankdatfalcon
I'm tired of hearing "It's not about sacks" whenever DE's are brought up. Yes, it's all about sacks.I guess you didn't see the Super Bowl and how much "pressure" the hawks defense as a whole put on Peyton and not sacks..no its not about sacks in all situations.. (and I rarely agree with him) I'm tired of people throwing that out there too at this stage. Sacks are a HUGE part of the equation and people keep acting like that's not a big part of what's been missing in Atlanta. I'm sure if you asked Michael Johnson he'd say he wasn't happy with his production overall last year and if he comes in and has identical years statistically but gets big money than that's a another FA failure for our front office. Willy Mo
You don't overpay guys to only get pressure and play the runs. It's like a QB that throws a bunch of yards but can't get the touchdownsYou do understand how vital pressure is to a defense and how much it can change a play? Not justifying "overpaying " anyone but your analogy is really really bad.

It's like a QB that throws a bunch of yards but can't get the touchdownsUmmm… forgive me i'm new to this feetball activity. Apparently, getting pressure and playing the run (unless I miss understood and you meant "frolic in diarrhea") are two of them? What exactly are the other responsibilities of a 4-3 DE?
