2014 Starting Offensive Line?

Baker takes a lot of criticism and most of it is understandable but he is above average when healthy (2012) and the team has clearly invested in him long term due to his 6 year, $41 million contract.

As it stands right now, he is the best and most consistent o-lineman the team has.

Konz has had his fair share of struggles but the team looks content to let both him and Hawley battle for the job. Konz won the job last season and may very well be the favorite to win it again this season. With better guard play and a familiar coach (Mike Tice) hopefully Konz can play up to the standards the organization has set for him.

Finally the team fills the void along the o-line at RG and signs the Chiefs Jon Asamoah. As many know, the team is reportedly very interested in him and he would be welcomed by a team in dire need of better pass/run blocking in the interior, both of which he does very well.

The photo says it all. If the key word this offseason is 'toughness' then Robinson is a guy who fits right in. He is an earthmover in the running game and would develop as a protector on the right side of the o-line until the team feels he is ready to protect Matt Ryan's blind side.

Final Say: Things could turn out a bit differently in FA/draft of course but what would you all think of this o-line next season?

I'd be happy as a mofo. I would like us to bring in a vet center though. Goodwin or Velasco just in case Konz still sucks.

Yeah that would make sense

I have no faith in Konz. The guy was terrible. Hawley easily outplayed him, both physically and mentally.

We shall see what happens when training camp begins.

Even if Konz is 3rd string and never plays a down this season, I predict he will still cost us at least three wins based on the massive amount of FAIL he brings to our roster.

I'd be great with this. Or as ffs1970 says "happy as a mofo". Btw I don't think Konz is busted yet. Pat hill was terrible, and Konz just wasn't ready. I think he'll be back and very good this year, particularly if we improve the RG and RT position.

Btw if we miss Robinson, put Matthews or Lewan and I'd still be happy

This is precisely what I want to happen. And by that I mean that Konz dominates in training camp and preseason to take that spot back. However, I feel like Hawley will be the starting center, but the rest of the pieces are exactly what I wish for.

Hawley is not even on the roster. How can he be the starting center ?! :S

let him walk . Not a whole lot of teams looking for a small , non athletic , below average , backup center .

He performed better than Konz did. Let Konz back him up and re-sign Hawley on the cheap... and if by some shot in the dark chance Konz develops, let him take over. Will never happen though. This Pete Konz kid has nothing.

I think it would be a HUGE mistake to fix RG and RT , then leave a huge hole at center. I believe center is very important . Ryan was getting pressure from the center position all year ! Hawley is a backup at best . We need a upgrade ..

Ryan was getting constant pressure up the middle because our RG was getting blown up on a consistent basis, right along with other spots on the line. Konz, every time he played. Center is a concern, yes, but I think Hawley is serviceable there, and if we upgrade the RG position with Asamoah and draft another beast we would be solid. These guys work together on the line and Reynolds/Holmes were the root of most of it. God awful.

Hawley is not solid . He's a backup . I don't care who you put beside him . You are what you are. Yea Konz was horrible , but Hawley wasn't much better. We have a hole at center , period .
