PFT’s No. 5-ranked free agent doesn’t appear to be lacking for potential suitors.

Seven teams, including the Vikings, havechecked in on Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson, Ben Goessling of ESPN.com reported Saturday.

Goessling reports that it has been indicated that Johnson won’t be re-signing with Cincinnati.

The 27-year-old Johnson has notched 26.5 sacks in regular season play in five NFL campaigns. His most productive pass rushing season was in 2012, when he recorded 11.5 sacks. He had 56 tackles but just 3.5 sacks in 2013.

I think DE`s will be even cheaper than last year. Especially with a draft deep in tbem

this draft is not deep at pure 4-3 defensive end - its one of the shallowest positions

  1. Jadeveon Clowney
  2. Kony Ealy
  3. Scott Crichton

who you got? its late - not counting 3-4 OLB guys like Mack, Barr, Van Noy, etc.

I tell you crichton is really underatted I wouldn't be mad at

1. Robinson

2. Crichton

That would mean we signed a vet safety IMO. I don't think we draft a third round safety to come in and start.

Yup .. Besides Clowney, Mack, Barr, Dee Ford.. Those are the guys you probably can say true pass rushers.... I mean some one will find a gem but we are in the position that we need right now/ day 1 guy

I like MJ and if we get a FA DE I prefer it to be him. But IMO hes a true LDE that can get better sack numbers there.

But looking at our roster we have a combo at LDE that IMO will be very good for us, Goodman and Mass. That's why I want Clowney, he coul be a bust or be exactly what we need as a RDE.
