Bring It
Chasing ??With Bailey's "speed"...........Smitty could catch him, even with a head start.
atlGM
Im not sure how champ fits here. If we want him to fill in at the slot I'd be ok with it. At safety I just don't know.

DMT11
Bailey can still play a bit of nickel corner also moving to safety - if we get another one, we could create a very diverse scheme with lots of options and looks - which is the whole point of what Nolan wants to do . Bailey might help us in nickel and dime packs and help us in 3rd and long situations. And he should be better than any other 4th string CB out there

PokerSteve
Exactly. Bailey might help us in nickel and dime packs and help us in 3rd and long situations. And he should be better than any other 4th string CB out thereAgree on all counts. Ideal nickel back, great knowledge, proven talent, even if he has lost a couple of steps. A year-one deal would make sense.
Objective Critic
I dont get this crap about persuing old free agents as if they are going to mentor the young guys. What a load of crap. Every player is out for themselves. Young guy is trying to become the starter and the older guy is trying to keep his position. When are the fans ever going to learn? Even when Gonzo was here, he didnt help any of the other TEs. He was too busy learning the system himself.Enough with the old guys. Their best days are behind them. We need young lions. Common Sense
FS is a thinking man's position. Which has always been Decoud's biggest weakness amongst the vast assortment there of.If you think Champ Bailey wouldn't solidify that area for a couple of years with his cerebral ability you are sadly mistaken. Denver blew it when they didn't insist he move to Safety before they acquired him. If Bailey's playing Safety for them in 2012, Flacco doesn't complete that long flukey bomb to a wide open WR, due to the Safety playing his depth too shallow. And the Bronco's go to the SB instead of the Raven's as a result. Champ Bailey would be a HUGE upgrade over Decoud if only for a couple of years. Moreover, I'm confident he has the physical ability to stick with any Slot Receiver or Tight End in this division. Even if J. Byrd is my 1st choice for obvious reasons. It is not a negative nancy post. It is a fact. Not only are teams competing but the players are too. What the fudge do you think preseason is about as well as training camp? It is about players fighting for their jobs as well as their positions on the depth chart.
