autigerfan
Per Rotoworld.Bears re-signed DT Jay Ratliff to a two-year, $4 million contract with $600,000 guaranteed.Ratliff and the Bears started negotiating a new deal at the Combine. The Bears signed the 32-year-old off the street in November. He appeared in five games, starting four, and recorded nine tackles and 1.5 sacks. The Bears need to keep upgrading the defensive line. Ideally, Ratliff would be part of a rotationhttp://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/nfl/football Babs has been healthier but they are the same age. I would go up to $3M tops as Babs should be a rotational player at this juncture.
JulioisCoolio
Take that 3 mil, add 3 more mil and get an elite level tackle in Linval Joseph and then draft a tackle. No need to keep living in the past. Let's get younger.
hjerry
I appreciate what Babs has done for this team, but we need change on this DL, and that's not going to happen, if we just resign all the same guys from the last few years.

Let's get younger. It's incredible how people are trying to justify keeping 2 or 3 of Babineaux, Peters, and Jerry when we have gotten zero push up the middle and had one of the worst run Ds in the league the last few years. We have a lot of cap room to sign better players. Why not use it?
freebird310
Words of truth. I am totally ready to move on from Babs.

We really need a rotation of 3-4 guys on the inside including some more beef to stuff the run.

Butudontseeme™
I guess that means the bears aren't going to re up with Melton? Melton would be a really awesome addition pending his acl is healing.
Clark Kent™
That is very very cheap. I highly doubt Babs would sign for that. But i would love it if he did

Herr Doktor
We need to get younger and to move past the saccharin sweet sentimentality we seem to exude for players who are coming to a close in their career. Babs has been a warrior, but let's spend the.money for him on a younger player who actually factors into the future.

Melton would be a really awesome addition pending his acl is healing. That's what I'm saying! I doubt we have a real shot at Joseph, and if we were gonna get a guy like Starks or Soliel it should have happened 2 years ago (I just don't think either of those guys have a lot left at this point)

vel
The only reason I am for resigning Babs is for insurance of any setbacks with Peters.
