Let's Make Some Bets

Recommended Posts

Julio knows he can go out and dominate and secure a huge contract if he can stay healthy next year. Falcons are in no rush to resign him and want to see him stay healthy first. So he won't re-sign this offseason

We won't draft OT because the FO regards Baker as the LT going forward. Now if Clowney, Mack, etc are off the board we may have to draft an OT

I will bet you that if I'm right you will never be able to post again? I don't think we will resign Julio THIS off season but next. And I will say that we do take a tackle with the 6th pick.

don't know if I can do not posting ever again because I may just create another account. However, I can not post for 7 days per person who wants to bet.

Will many here condemn the idea of trading up from #6 before the draft?

Yes

Will most of them applaud a trade up from #6 on draft day?

Yes

For those of us that don't see things in black/white terms these are on the table.

I havent "condemned" the idea of trading up, but I don't want to do it. IF we do it, I'll understand why, even if I disagree with the decision. And I may like the player we get a lot to be in favor of the end result.

Using Tru as an example, I wasn't stoked about us trading up to get him but I'm glad we did get him.

Black/white really describes me :-/

I echo the feeling on Trufant.

What trade up from #6 scenarios do you envision yourself "understanding why"?

The Falcons will resign Julio this offseason...they would be dumb to wait later and possibly pay way more.

The Falcons will stay put at #6 and select either the best olineman available or the best dlineman available. Either way, it will be a lineman.

Anyone want to bet (non monetary)? I'm willing to take the following sides of the below statements.

Will Julio Jones resign with Falcons this off-season?

No

Will Falcons draft an OT using 6th overall pick?

No

Let me know what you want to bet.

You think they'd pass on Robinson and/or Matthews if no Clowney or Mack there?

Well let's bet then. We won't sign Julio.

Trade down or reach for a DE.

I'm sorry for the implication...it was unintentional. It was more to describe me....there are certainly those posters here.

The understandable trade up scenarios are the following:

1) We have an A+ free agency run cutting our needs down quite a bit.

2) We move up to a non-2 spot.

3) (sort of piggy backs on 2) We move up for a reasonable amount of compensation (I can't really do that proactively it would have to be done on a deal by deal basis)

As things are now, outside of moving up for non-premium picks, it would be tough to get down with. But if we bolster the DL/OL in free agency, and we can move up to #3 or #4 for a reasonable cost for Clowney, I'd probably get there.

I'll bet Julio resigns at some point. May not be this offseason, but it will happen. We invested to much to go cheap with him now. And I hear he likes the south. He also seems to get along with the guys in the locker room. Him and Roddy are buds. I would assume he stays a Falcon for a while.

I hope we dont, but we may if Robinson is available with Mack, Clowney gone. I wouldnt be too upset with that.

Let me know what you want to bet.
