Aside From Julio, Most Impactful Injury?

Just curious as to which injury (aside from Julio) do you think hurt this team the most? I would honestly have to say Biermann. All signs pointed to him having a huge role in this defense, and being used in a very creative way. I think him going down put a limit on what Mike Nolan wanted to do with the defense this year, and really affected the amount of pass rush we've been able to generate. His injury was definitely devastating to this team. Although Roddy's lingering injuries definitely hurt a lot too.

If Biermann's injury hurt or D that much it shows we need a game changing DE.

I think Johnson's injury totally screwed up the entire offensive line (which eventually screwed the whole offense). Holmes out of shape fat lazy butt got handed the start and he sucked it up. That put more stress on the Line and Konz began thinking too much and doubting himself and his protection calls and he got manhandled instead of being consistent technique with his blocks. Reynolds always sucked but would have been surrounded by better play. But once the blood was in the water he was done, and Konz had to go back to G. Hawley came in and since he's too hyped on adderal to care he has just had fun and relaxed and has done better at C than Konz. Baker getting hurt was just more manure on the tire fire.

Our biggest impact injury wise was spoon for two reasons..

1) we lost our captain, and arguably best defensive player..

2) we got to see some rookies step in and show the world they can ball

Interesting twist on "impact". Yes, the Falcons have been forced to see which other guys can play and which ones not really at WR, OL, DE, and LB. That may affect our future drafts and team more than any single injury.

If Spoon and/or Kroy are our best defensive players then that speaks volumes about our defense and why we are so bad on that side of the ball.

Think less about their "ability" and "versatility" or even leadership and focus on actual on field production. Then think about their production compared to players at their positions throughout the rest of the league and you will see why we are where we are on D.

Spoon specializes in missed tackles, almost sacks "did you see him almost get to the qb", and trailing the receiver who just caught the ball for a first down.

Kroy had more pick 6's rushing the QB in BVG's scheme than he had a single PD playing centerfield in Nolans gimmick Defense. His sack total peaked at what 6? He consistently avgs around 4 even with a true pash rusher opposite him receiving all the attention and we are supposed to think highly of him? His hustle is great but besides the highlight plays back in 09/10 during BVG era when has it amounted to anything significant besides "he was almost there"?

We need more actual results and less potential

Exactly, only this MB thinks Biermann is a really good player. He drops back into coverage twice a game and runs around in the aemoba we run twice a season, and that's somehow makes him "versatile"

Biermann going down early in the season and our D being crap have combined to make his legend grow. If only Nolan had the key cog in his defense....

Spare me.

I think Johnson was pretty impactful and it really doesn't have much to do about the man himself. It was like Smitty and TD had no clue what to do after that. You could see the panic in their eyes as they ran around trying to glue a whole new line together. Freaking headless chickens.

Biermann LMAO... these stans are foolish. Bierman would be 2nd or 3rd string on anyone else's team. All your points about Spoon are on point too. Some of ya'll need to get a clue...
