Dimitroff's Draft Record When Not Having A Top 3 Pick

Recommended Posts

2009 (24th overall): Peria Jerry (puke), William Moore (solid pick), Chris Owens, Lawrence Sidbury (everyone favorite superstar on the bench player), William Middleton (did he ever play?), Garrett Reynolds (yuck), Spencer Adkins, Vance Walker (solid given the round)

2010 (19th overall): Weatherspoon (oft-injured and has never lived up to his hype), Corey Peters (solid, but overrated on this board), Mike Johnson (ick), Joe Hawley (bleh), Dominique "Fair Catch " Franks, Kerry "Never on the field" Meier, Shann Shillinger

2011 (26th overall): Julio Jones (but it took an extra 1st rounder and other picks to get him), Akeem Dent (terrible), Jaquizz Rodgers (OK pick, but hasn't been great), Matt Bosher (TD's lone late round gem), Andrew Jackson and Cliff Matthews

2012 (22nd pick each round): Peter Konz (yeeee-oowwwww), Lamar Holmes (another often blamed culprit), Bradie "IR" Ewing, Jonathan Massaquoi (may actually be decent), Travian Robertson

Yet there are posters that say "You can find good talent outside of the top picks". Well, looking at Dimitroff's track record, no, we definitely can't. This team needs the highest pick it can get, Dimitroff hasn't had a good draft class since 2008

He has had one pick in the top ten. ONE. Give the guy a break. The Jerry and Spoon picks were reasonable. The only reason they have not been fruitful is because of injuries.

We will have a top ten pick this draft. Judge him by that pick.

He can't even hit on his mid teen picks in the first round, which means it gets even worse with each round during the draft

He is one of the worst mid-round drafters in the league, and that is why we got so bad, so quickly. He let a lot of veterans walk, thinking that his guys were just as good or better, and they turned out to be crap. The best player he has gotten out of the 3rd, 4th, or 5th round is probably Biermann or Peters. That is completely unacceptable.

Bierman is a better reality TV star than football player. Dimitroff is a horrible value drafter.

And we've only had one good draft, and it was the one time we picked in the top 3

It's no winning with you guys. That was our only good draft really. Why because we got Ryan? The last draft he had is his best so far. The fact is you guys have no real legitimate reasons to complain. Everyone cried when we got Ryan over Dorsey now it's the best draft pick he's made. We've pick in the back half of the draft for the first times in the existence of our franchise because were now a winning team but yet complain they can't build a team. We've won the most games in the NFL but we need a better coach cause the one we have doesn't win enough. You guys say we need to get best possible draft pick to improve our chances of winning a Super Bowl. When was the last time a team picking in the top 5 won the Super Bowl the next year. Never. 1 player isn't gonna get us a Super Bowl. We've seen it with the Julio trade one top 5 player isn't gonna improve this team, and before you say better picks in each round who are these other players in the 2nd, 3rd round we need to tank for if it's not about tanking to get this 1 clown.

It was the best because his drafts have been downright awful. Ryan was a hit (and along with Michael Turner the only reason Dimitroff has success), Lofton was a solid pick, Baker wasn't, Decoud and Biermann had moments but neither is outstanding really, and HD is a good third rounder
