Matt_The Iceman_Ryan
2014 Mock Off-Season & DraftThis Mock Off-Season assumes the “nuclear” option…..AB keeps TD thinking that he is the one putting the players on the field (whether or not they are good, is indifferent). House is cleaned though after the team basically doesn’t show up the rest of the season and it looks like they have lost fight, toughness, etc under Smitty. We bid Mike Smith farewell at the end of the year and thank him for what he has done to turn the organization around. ****, AB even considers keeping him as part of the FO, but Smith chooses to continue to coach. So, my off-season must include a new coach, new schemes, new players, everything….I look back on the contracts that we gave last year and unfortunately the team has invested in those players at least for the short term (2 years). The same goes for the draft. No matter what, so players we are just stuck with and must do the best we can with the players and build around them. Here are my off-season moves:New Coaching Staff:Vic Fangio, Head Coach (former DC of 49ers)Joe Lombardi, OC (formerly QB coach with Saints from 2009-present)Mike Nolan, DC (remains the same, but under Fangio, scheme switches to 3-4)*Honestly, you can put whomever you like in the coaching positions, these are just my choices, but I do think to overhaul the roster, it might be easier to get back to success quicker if we change to a 3-4 personnel on defense…Cut the following players (cap savings):Tony Gonzalez ($8.7 mil)Asante Samuel ($5.2 mil)Osi Umenyora ($3.5 mil)Thomas DeCoud ($3 mil)Stephen Nicholas ($2 mil)Garrett Reynolds ($1.3 mil)Jason Snelling ($1.3 mil)Restructure Roddy White’s contract in some way to help the team and keep him a Falcon, otherwise, he might be a cap casualty with a new regime.Re-Sign the following players:Antone Smith (RB)Chase Coffman (TE)Robert McClain (CB)Corey Peters (DT)Michael Johnson (OG/OT)Joe Hawley ©Free Agents:Eugene Monroe (OT, JAX)Tashard Choice (RB, BUF)Arthur Jones (DE, BAL)Jericho Cotchery (WR, PIT)Perrish Cox (CB, SF)Taylor Mays (S, SF)2014 Mock Draft:I am projecting us as having #3 pick in the draft and I assume the current records of CLE and WAS for a draft tradeFalcons trade 1st round pick (3) and 5th rounder to Cleveland for #10, #28, #72 and #78Falcons trade 4th round pick (#99) to JAX for #110 and #1291 (10): Louis Nix III DT Notre Dame (6'3" 340lbs)1 (28): Eric Ebron TE North Carolina (6'4" 245lbs)2 (35): Gabe Jackson OG Miss St (6’3” 333lbs.)3 (67): Jeremiah Attaochu DE Georgia Tech (6’3” 245lbs)3 (72): Ahmad Dixon S Baylor (6’0” 205lbs)3 (78): Calvin Barnett DT Oklahoma St (6’2” 300lbs)4 (110): Shaq Evans WR UCLA (6’1” 211lbs)5 (129): Spencer Long OG Nebraska (6’4” 315lbs)6 (163): Cornelius Lewis OT Kansas St (6’9” 325lbs)7 (195): Ryan Hewitt FB Stanford (6’4” 250lbs)2014 Atlanta Falcons RosterOffenseQB: Ryan / Davis / RenfreeRB: SJax / Rodgers / Choice / SmithFB: Hewitt /WR: Julio / Cotchery / DavisWR: Roddy / Douglas / ShaqTE: Ebron / Toilolo / CoffmanLT: Baker / HolmesLG: Blalock / Long / GunnC: Konz / HawleyRG: Jackson / JohnsonRT: Monroe / Lewis / LocklearDefenseDE: Peters / Matthews / GoodmanDT: Nix III / Robertson / ReplogleDE: Jones / BarnettOLB: Attaochu / MapongaILB: Worrilow / DentILB: Spoon / BartuOLB: Kroy / MassaquoiCB: Trufant / Cox / FranksCB: Alford / McClainFS: Dixon / IshmaelSS: Moore / Mays / MottaK: BryantP: BonnerKR: RodgersPR: Alford / Douglas
kiwifalcon
C'mon dog it's Bosher.lol..If your making all these changes I'm not really a fan of changing defense's when really we only need to tweak the trenches.I'm keeping the same regime but this is there last chance. The only coaches I am changing are Pat Hill & Ray Hamilton.I like some of the FA choices but realistically I just don't see it to many changes for mine. The Draft to trade downs I'm not seeing that either we have a huge chance to get really good talent if we stick where we are.I don't want to spread ourselves thin I would rather us just focus on a certain part of the team and fix it long term so for me the 1st 2 picks in the draft are O & D-line without and either a RG or RT in FA. The O.D.B
I'm not familiar with allot of your picks but, I do like most of it. Only objection I have is taking a TE in the 2nd. If we pulled off some miracle trading like this and our second pick isn't one of the guys below I'd be a bit upset.Stephon TuittRaShede HagemanDavid YankeyHasean Clinton-Dix
