Adema1226 123
We keep him until we are officialy out of the playoffs. Then release him. That way the Cheifs (or whoever) can pick him up off of free agency and he can at least play for a Super Bowl.If he doesn't make it, and we somehow bounce back next year and go to the Super Bowl... we could sign him to a 1 day contract just so he could play in the Super Bowl for us. He'd most likely not be in playing shape by that time but we could put him in there for one play and have a pass thrown to him just so he can actually experience playing the SB.Don't know how those one day contracts work but I know they exist since a lot of people have signed with their former teams so they could retire with their "home" team (ex. Elam signed 1 day contact with Denver to retire a Bronco), but who says it can't be the day of the Super Bowl so you could play in that game?

wleggett 625
I really don't understand all this talk about trading him to this or that team that has a chance at a super bowl. Think about how many hall of famers don't have a ring then think about how cheap it would seem him.
I Keep It One Hundred! 23
Lol.. Tony would never go for that. You think these guys just want a cheap SB appearance? He wants to earn it

Dharma Initiative 6,386
When you cut a player they go on waivers. KC would have the absolute last chance at getting him. This would be really stupid.

4LoveoftheGame 1,653
When you cut a player they go on waivers. KC would have the absolute last chance at getting him. This would be really stupid.I don't believe he would have to clear waivers, they changed that rule for vested Vets. But letting him go that late just so he can play in the Superbowl would really cheapen the worth. If he is traded now at the half way point and he helps them get there then it would mean something, but to be honest I can't see the Chiefs getting to the Superbowl with teams like the Broncos, Colts, Bengals, Patriots still in the way.The fairy tale story is trading him back to the Chiefs and they go all the way, but his best chance is probably the Broncos and they can give us little used Jacob Tamme or a late round pick in return.
